Somebody please help

Watch dogs 2, Alien Isolation, blair witch are few games to name which have now basically made me consider buying a pc now

Reason : Frame tearing happens every few second and ruin my every effort to play the game

While driving through cities and alleys in watch dogs 2, frame tearing happens soo much that i cant even do anything but only figure out what is what.

But in Alien Isolation, even when u are simply playing the game it happens.

And in blair witch when u see through the woods during the day, it triggers it

Also i have calibrated my tv to the way xbox said to do in settings, the first day it came

I was recently signed up for update preview

I thot enrolling out of that and resetting my console with game & apps still installed would solve my problems, but no.

Still the same frame tearing

I am seriously annoyed now

Hi,

Screen tearing occurs because these games have a dynamic VSync. This means when they fall below their target frame rate, they turn off the in-game vertical synchronisation to prevent further slow down. When VSync is disabled you'll see screen tears, usually
in the middle of the screen.

I'm sure you already know this, but I've mentioned it for those that do not.

Screen tearing is very common on console, even more so on the Xbox One S which really struggles with some games, and even more so on more recent games like Blair Witch.

Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do about tearing, it's part of the game programming.

If you have your console set to instant on, it would be advisable to restart it completely every once in a while and make sure it is in a well ventilated area.

I'm now pretty much a PC gamer, only occasionally playing Xbox games (I have the One X). I have built myself a I high end gaming PC with a Ray-tracing RTX 2080 graphics card and a G-SYNC monitor. Screen tearing is a thing of the past for me as my monitor
can refresh itself to whatever my PC can run frame rate wise up to 144Hz (or a 144 fps).

You have a number of options:

Keep your Xbox One S for now and wait for the up-coming Series X

Buy an Xbox One X (never had any major tearing issues on mine)

Buy or build your own dedicated gaming PC.

The screen tearing and frame rate drops are there for everyone using the xbox one version (haven't played pc version). Some people just don't notice it, good for them, if you cant see it, don't start looking, it will only ruin your experience as it has for
me.

I contacted EA support and the guy confirmed they are looking at 'improving' the screen tearing. Not quite sure how they are going to do this without slowing the game down or lowering resolution.

Haven't experiences this yet, then again, I'm not too far into the game.
