    Xbox One S screen flash in 4k mode


    I am using my Xbox One S with a Samsung U28E590D 4k Monitor. When operating the console at 4k resolution, the video feed periodically cuts out for two seconds before coming back. The monitor interprets the issue as a loss of signal, as when it comes back,
    the monitor flashes the selected input as if you have just plugged in a device. This issue is known to occur on multiple monitor/TVs when operating in 4k resolution ([Tech] Xbox One S screen flashing black? : xboxone).
    The Monitor, high speed HDMI cable, and console work perfectly well in 1080p resolution, this issue only arises when operating in 4k. I have performed the hard power cycle (the non specific AV fix all provided by the support team) but this has not solved
    the issue.

    Can others with this issue please post here so that there will be sufficient evidence for MS to release some kind of patch that addresses this issue. Also, MS, please do not blame the monitor manufacturer, others have swapped their monitors for replacements
    etc. and the issue continues.

    If you have a last of compatible and incompatible 4k displays, please post as this will help others from wasting hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I am very upset, and just want to use the console as advertised.

    Xbox One X won't play 4K from Sky Q through input and output HDMI Connection

    The HDMI IN on the XBOX ONE / ONE S / ONE X are all just 1080P there is no 4K pass through on those consoles.

    The Xbox One S Supports 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution - not 4K gaming

    The Xbox One X Supports 4K Gaming, 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution

    - Game developer has to make the game 4K

    - 4K pass-through is a hardware feature that does not exist within the console. You'd be better

    off running your 4k Sky Q into the TV directly. (the xbox is doing what it's designed to do)

    Xbox One S is not really a 4K console,

    4K Media Content - Yes

    You can play 4K Blu-ray DVD's or Streaming services like Netflix in 4K just fine if your paying the the 4K subscription options,

    4K Gaming Content - No

    As for games, it only plays games at 1080p but it is upscaled to 4K, other wise a 1080p image without upscaling to 4K, will look much worst on a 4K screen than what it would do, if it was only displayed on a 1080p screen,

    A 1080p image upscaled on a 4K screen does look a little better than a 1080p image on a 1080p screen, but it still a 1080p image made to fit a 4K resolution screen, which is what the Xbox One S does

    Xbox One X is a 4K console,

    4K Media - Yes

    4K Gaming - Yes

    The issues is not the TV, it's the Xbox One S not being an Xbox One X.

    I have a gaming PC and I can Play 4K with the same screen without any problem. I am using my Xbox one S HDMI cable I read somewhere the cable came with ONE S is HDMI ver 2. I cannot put the console into 4K mode that's the problem

    Hi I'm a little late to this. I have a newer Samsung SUHD 65in 4k TV that I just purchased last year. I have this same issue with my Xbox One S. When I put my xbox one S into 4k settings my tv goes black every so often as well. I have noticed if i unplug
    the hdmi cable and plug it back in. The screen will sometimes rapidly flash to black over and over every 2 seconds. I then restarted my xbox one s and it went away. However my tv still flashes to black on 4k settings but currently it does it every 30 mins
    or so, very annoying. So it is not a tv issue it seems like its an Xbox one s communication issue with the tv.

    So is there any xbox updates on this?
