    For the last 2 weeks, my xbox has been auto dimming the screen every 15 minutes or so while watching movies on the blu-ray player, and also on Netflix. I use a wireless controller, and simply moving a stick makes it go away. I did some research and this
    seems to have happened to people off and on for the last 2-3 years, but I haven't found a fix for it yet. It is annoying and forces me to power up my controller every time, so it is wasting batteries. Has anyone found a fix for this yet?

    Hey Microsoft/Xbox get your sheet together. I don't pay $400+ for a console to have buggy software that dims my screen when I'm trying to watch television. Maybe my next purchase should be into a playstation as they haven't had this issue in years and

    I can confirm this checklist does not stop the dimming. It does remove the side bar that shows up, but the screen still dims until some contact with the controller is made.

    First go to settings, preferences, idle options. Make sure show me things when idle is unchecked, makes no difference how long your screen dim is set for. Once you have checked that, go back to home and cycle right to system and scroll down to restart
    console. This should sort it out after the restart đź‘Ť
