Preparing Console, Green Screen Loading Errors

    Hello,

During the initial setup of my xbox one s console, while updating it didn't respond for a while. I did a restart and it kept stucking at the green loading screen forever.

I tried to do system rest and offload update using the details from Xbox One System Updates | Offline System Updates. It is still getting stuck at
    "Preparing Console" screen.

Let me know if anyone got into similar situations and able to fix.

    Thank you!!

  3. Why does my Xbox One S not load past the Xbox One green screen

I just got a Xbox One S and I set it up as it is meant to be but when I turn it on to do the setup it gets to the Xbox one green screen and then restarts after 3 white dots appear under the Xbox One sign which blinks like something is loading and then it
    restarts.

    problems with set up update

I don't think the other people who replied understand what you are asking because I'm having the same problem. My brand new Xbox One S is going to sleep/turning off DURING the straight out the box initial set up update. Not AFTER it's fully downloaded the
update and it auto restarts. And when I turn the Xbox one back on, the initial set up update starts over. You can't get to the settings yet to set it to download even when the console is off/sleep because it can't get past the initial set up update. Nobody
has time to sit in front of the TV for hours, wiggling the controller sticks every 5 mins to keep the controller/Console from going to sleep partially through the Initial setup update and having to start over. It's been 3 days and I haven't been able to play
one single game yet on my new Xbox One S. Is there any way to prevent this?

    Initial setup restart

    Hi There,

You could try to see if you can system reset your Xbox One through a USB drive on your computer.

    Step One

If you can't restore the factory default settings because you have no picture on your screen or you can't access the Settings menu, you can perform this action by using a file loaded onto a USB flash drive.

To use the USB flash drive to restore your console to factory defaults, you'll need:

    • A Windows-based PC with an internet connection and a USB port
    • A USB flash drive with a minimum 4 GB of space formatted as NTFS

Important Most USB flash drives come formatted as FAT32 and need to be reformatted to NTFS.
Formatting a USB flash drive for this procedure will erase all files on it.

    1. Plug your USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
    2. Select the following link to download the reset file to your computer. This compressed file contains the files needed to reset your Xbox One console to factory defaults: Restore
      Factory Defaults
    3. Select Save to save the console update .zip file to your computer.
    4. To unzip the compressed file, right-click on the file and then select Extract allfrom the pop-up menu.
    5. Copy the $SystemUpdate file from the .zip file to your USB flash drive.
Note The files should be copied to the root directory, and there shouldn't be any other files on the flash drive.
    6. Unplug the flash drive from your computer.
    7. Step 2

      1. Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.
      2. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.
      3. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.
      4. Plug the flash drive into a USB port on your console.
      5. Press and hold the BIND button (located on the left side of the console) and the EJECT button (located on the front of the console), and then press the Xbox button  on
        the console.
Note The Xbox One S All-Digital Edition does not have an EJECT button. On this console you only need to hold the BIND button (steps 5 & 6) and then press the Xbox button .
      6. Continue holding the BIND and EJECT buttons for 10-15 seconds.
      7. Listen for two "power-up" tones a couple of seconds apart.
Note If you don't hear two power-up tones after 15 seconds, it means this failed. Likewise, if you hear any "power-down" chirps, that also means this failed.
      8. You can release the BIND and EJECT buttons after the second power-up tone.
      9. When the console restarts, remove the flash drive.
      10. Once the console restarts, you should see the digital setup experience to guide you through resetting your console.

Note The console restart may take several minutes. If you’re using a wired connection, plug your network cable back into the console. If you have never connected your console to the internet, you will need to connect at least once
      during the system setup process.

Brand New Xbox One S won't let me add my first account

Check your network hardware, it may need a restart to acquire network connection.

Use ethernet cable to do initial setup instead of WiFi.

Xbox not auto connecting to wireless network upon startup

G'day Double! Let's start with the basics and get that connection running a bit smoother. What have you tried so far to get past this extra step?

Let's give these steps a go, if you haven't already:

    • Cycle your network hardware: Unplug modem, router, and console from power for 2 solid minutes. Then restart each one at a time in the same order.
    • Clear the console's cache
      3 times
    • Restart the console
    • Redownload your profile from Xbox Live.
    • If possible, try a wired connection to the router temporarily to see if the issue persists.

Let us know how those go. If you're still seeing that 80151904 upon start-up, we'll dig a bit deeper.

Unable to connect to xbox live, even though there is a good internet connection

    Hey Apteryx

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently experiencing difficulties with connecting to Xbox Live.

So is your console right now unable to get past the initial update?

Do you experience this when attempting to connect to a different network?

If you haven't already, I would recommend using something like a mobile hotspot momentarily, so that we may get past the initial update and run some different types of test to find what the source of this is.

However, if you are able to at least get to the Home screen of the Xbox Dashboard, then I would encourage you using the

    Xbox One Connection Solution
and see if this allows you to get this mattered resolved.

Give this a try and let us know if this works for you!
