Xbox One s restarting upon initial set up when trying to connect to wireless internet.

My brand new Xbox One s keeps restarting itself while trying to connect to my home Wi-Fi. I cannot even make it through initial setup without it restarting and bringing me back to the beginning. I have picked my language over again so many times now. I just
want it to work. I'd prefer to not have to return it if at all possible. What will fix this?

Network Issues

Hello, my Xbox One is having problems connecting with my wireless network. When I turn on my Xbox it says it isn't connected to the internet, and when I try to set up my wireless network again it says it has a wired connection when it doesn't. It says I
need to unplug the wired connection in order to connect to the wireless, which I can't do because I don't have a wired connection. This has happened before and restarting my Xbox has fixed it, but restarting the console is no longer working. Can anyone help?

Initial Set Up Restarting

Hi there!

I'd hit up the chat support but it is refusing to put my name in, so that won't work.

So, I just got a new 1TB Xbox One Halo 5 Special Edition and the initial set up was interrupted by the power supply getting unplugged. Now the initial set up just restarts the Xbox at a certain point and I can't get it to do anything else.

A workaround for this is to use a wired Ethernet connection for the initial setup and update.
It seems to work fine that way. Then once you have done the initial setup you can go back to a Wi-Fi connection if you like.

Delete your wireless connection settings this way...

Set up wireless network

If your Xbox One isn't currently connected to the Internet, or if you want to change wireless access points, select
Set up wireless network. Selecting this button deletes any current wireless settings and prompts you to set up a new wireless device.

Then restart your Xbox and try again.

Is your console connected to the internet? Wired or wireless? If wireless try connecting via ethernet cable for the update.

Also, clear your cache and restart the console before trying the update again.

Are you using a wired or wireless internet connection?

Try a wired connection (ethernet cable) to your network hardware and restart the console. It should connect and do the required OS update.

If wireless choose a factory refresh of the console. After the refresh is complete, input the console setup details again.
