Xbox One S Refusing to allow initial setup

Hi Nickmatic! I'm sorry to hear if you are having issue with updating your new xbox one S. You may also try to do offline update. Simply follow the steps on this link below:

To use the Offline System Update, you'll need:

•A Windows-based PC with an Internet connection and a USB port.

•A USB flash drive with a minimum 4 GB of space formatted as NTFS.

What did you need that for? I managed to set it up without it. Are you trying to connect to a network? If so, you could just skip it and then get the MAC address before setting up the network separately.

You should have the choice to skip those options until you have been brought to the dashboard for the first time.

After doing so, you will need to go to "Xbox go to Settings">Networking>Advance Settings and choose Manual

Is your device in the setup phase of booting, if it is, please connect to wired to allow the initial setup to complete, then you should be able to connect to the WIFI network without any issue. This seems to be fairly common issue when doing an initial
setup on reboot.
