xbox one s randomly turning off due to insufficient ventilation

hello everyone, as the title suggests my Xbox one s is randomly shutting off due to that error, I know for a fact that my Xbox is in no enclosed or tight space where the airflow is limited nor does it have dust particles within it.

This error has worsened as it would only happen during a game, now it shuts off after about 15 minutes of the console starting up. I am asking for any help regarding this issue ranging from a power supply error (I've read about this somewhere, I just need confirmation) or wheater I have no hope for this console and to purchase a new one

sending this console back is not an option as

1. the warranty is no longer available

2. it costs $250 to get it repaired and I do not even know what's causing this error

any comments regarding this issue and how I can fix it or the ones the give a simple explanation are very much appreciated

Fortunately I never had this problem with my xbox one consoles , it turned off every time you play the same videogame ? Or everytime you play a game ? Did you tried to contact the xbox support ? Sometimes they help you online , and not inevitably sent them your console in repair 😉

Hey there! Ive had similar issues in the past and have had similar issues with artefacts on my one x. I know you say its clean but the one thing i would suggest first is that if you can disconnect all power and cables and take to somebody that can very carefully blow out the console with compressed air no more than 80 psi to get the stubborn dust that sits within the case, if you have your own compressor just be sure there is no water in the tank before doing this. You could also try the power cable and replace it before spending large amounts on a new machine if i remember right the power supply on these is now internal unlike the 360 and if your psu is at fault then it would need professional repair. I work on pneumatics and electric power tools and nine times out of ten its always a simple fix. Could just be dust sitting on psu and thermal cut out kicking in to protect your console from frying so a good blast of air to clean it out might be worthwhile. Is your console on a stand? Zer0👍

this issue happens even if I leave the console on for 15 minutes, at first it was a select few games, (battle field 1, halo mcc) and now I can wait for an update or even just stay on the home screen and it turns off automatically, i have tried contacting xbox support but have only spoken to the virtual assistant, ill try to contact them via phone later, thank you for your reply

my console is not on a stand, I will try to air the dust out, I believe that the issue is caused by either my fan, thermal paste, or as you said a faulty psu, I will look into everything and post an update when I eventually find the problem and fix it, thank you for your help
