xbox one s profiles (family (adult-who occassional plays and 2 children who play)

I really appreciate all the help I've been getting from this community.

    Here is my issue:

I have created my 9 year old son's xbox profile under my email address?

So when I sign in to Microsoft Xbox with my email:

    it shows his gamer tag,

    my name

    his picture.

Then I have also created a second profile on the xbox, and this is my youngest child and the name attached (not the gamer tag-my actual child's name is not correct, its my oldest son's. It seems to be all mixed up.

    How do I correct this?

I just want me (gamer tag), my name , as the adult, then

I want son #1, (his gamer tag), (his name and age), as a family member, then

I want son #2, (his gamer tag), (his name and age), as a family member.

The emails are primarily being used just to have a Microsoft account/Xbox account profile. I just can't figure out how to change the name that is under the "gamer tag".

Also, I have very recently just added my son to the "family", but did so on my laptop. Do I need to connect his new "email and profile" with his xbox profile? Wow. I'm just finding this confusing and not easy at all.

    :)

Ok. Thank you. One more thing. Should I have an EA account as well for each individual profile? One for me, one for son #1, one for son #2? This seems to be related as well to online gaming?? Thanks again.

    Hi.

So the gamer tag associated with my email (the adult) is there to stay or can I delete that gamer tag and create my own? Then I could create a new profile for son #1 and a new gamer tag.

I have figured out/created a new profile and gamer tag for son #2.

    So I would like to:

change the gamer tag that is connected to my email account (the adult).

If possible I would like to keep my son's gamer tag and just move it to the email account/profile I created for him... (I'm pretty sure you said I couldn't do this but just checking?

    Hello kelly1KT,

Thank you for keeping us updated. We understand that you are now interested in knowing if you need to create EA accounts for each profile that your family has. The EA account is necessary for specific games that EA has available. Usually, you will be
prompted to create the EA account for your Xbox profile once you launch the game with that profile. You can also use EA's website to

    create an EA Account
    and
link it to an Xbox profile
. Once the game prompts you to enter your EA account information, you can go ahead and sign in since you already created them. If you plan on utilizing these profiles to play EA games, it may be best to go ahead and create an EA
account for each individual Xbox profile. We hope this helps!

It's best and advised that each person have their own Microsoft Account. You can share titles between them with the

    Home Console setting for Xbox
and by signing into an Xbox to allow others the use of games and Xbox Live Gold services.

The best place to manage all of your account items would be at the
    Microsoft Account page
, signing in as each individual account to update the information and profile pictures.

Adding them as family can also help make things a bit easier to manage some aspects as an Adult account, but juggling the different Microsoft accounts can be a bit tricky.

So for the mixup, I would make sure to verify the information at the
    Microsoft Account page
and verify the information there is correct, and it will have links to the Xbox pages where there might be additional settings. And if they are in your Microsoft Account Family,
you can manage their Privacy and Online Saftey Settings while signed in with your account.

Seeing as you are not trying to change the Gamertag's this may be the simplest solution:

Log into the email account your gamertag uses via you Microsoft account, edit display name.

How to change the name that is displayed:

https://account.live.com/ > Login > Left side of screen > Select Overview > Edit Display Name > Enter what you want displayed in the first name field only. You will have to put something in the last name
field but it will not show on the XB1 dashboard.

Log out of you XB1 then back in. If it does not change give it a few minutes. It will eventually update.
