Xbox One S problems with video signal and freeze

Everything started, when I found the console turned on, when I left it off, then turned on the TV and saw that it did not give any signal, so turn it off, and turned it on again, but it does not give a video signal, after many attempts to search the internet
Similar cases in your forums and help pages, which I tried, reboot of video configuration (power + eject), hard reset (hold the power button for 10 seconds), and nothing, curiously after being off for a while (More than 1 hour), it manages to turn on showing
video signal, the green screen with the xbox logo comes out and the menu comes out but soon after doing anything, it gets caught the screen and stops responding. If I restart or shut down or disconnect then the problem described above is repeated.

I think it looks like a software bug as if the system got corrupted with the latest update.

I would appreciate if there is a solution that can fix this.

    Thanks

    :)

  2. Cannot get any sound from my Turtle Beach X12 Headset

A lot of folk have had problems using the X12`s.

Using an xbox audio adapter WILL cure the problem as the audio signal is direct from the console to the headset. The HDMI is purely used for the video signal with that particular setup.

  3. Xbox 360 S (no video or sound)

    Hi

I have a Xbox360 S Console, having problems with my video output. I am getting no video signal out put using HDMI lead or normal A/V lead.

I have tried starting the console with my controller and then holding Y & R trigger with no response.

I think my Video Chip is gone.

    Please help!!!!

    Regards,

    Sam

How does the xbox one s know to upscale or input game info to 4k, if the games are not the 4k version?

Xbox One S has a 1080p output for this game with HDR. You TV upscale input video signal to 4K, if it not a 4K or less.

HDMI Passthrough issues when using HTPC

My HTPC device has the freezing issue. I can force it to work by using my tablet to remotely force playback of video. But if I stop a video or go to the menu screen the picture freezes as if the Xbox has stopped recognising the signal. I have tried turning
HDMI-CEC off on the media device but with no change in behaviour.

Netflix: No UHD on XBOX One S

That's the issue right there, Prezdead! My TV auto detects the resolution being put out by the source and sets it accordingly. There is no way to set my TV's HDMI input to display a certain resolution regardless of what the source is putting out. My Android
box and Roku 4 put out a 4k signal when I enable the resolution they should output is 4k. Unfortunately, The XBOX One S doesn't seem to do that.

When I do the video test on the XBOX One. My TV doesn't even flicker. It just pops up that it failed everything, which is incorrect. If I change the resolution on the XBOX One S to 720p, then it flickers and my TV changes the display to 720p. If I change
the XBOX One S to display 1080p, then the TV flickers and changes the resolution to 1080p. If I try to change the XBOX One S to display UHD, it does nothing other than go instantly to the failed screen, which states none of the options are supported. Under
Advanced Video Settings though, I have 24Hz, 50Hz, and UHD 4k checked. the problem is, the XBOX One S is putting out the 4k signal because the test says the TV fails everything and the TV will not disaply in 4k until the TV receives a signal from the XBOX
One S to display in 4k.

    TV Signal Freezes

So I have a similar problem with XBOX ONE TV viewing where the TV signal freeze as if the HDMI source had frozen or glitched.

In my case I am not using a set top box for live tv, but a laptop running Windows 8.1. I found through some experimentation that the loss of a audio signal on the HDMI input will cause the XBOX ONE to stop refreshing the HDMI signal for the TV. In other
words, even though the video is still playing, without audio, the video stops refreshing and appears to freeze.

This happens when first preparing to watch a video, surfing web, or simply pausing the video (toilet break!). Very frustrating. I would then have to go over to the laptop, hit play, and then everything returns to normal.

I should note that the laptop is fully functional when the video freezes, and the source of the apparent freeze is purely XBOX ONE not refreshing the video image for the TV.

I also replaced all my HDMI cables for HI-SPEED (3D and 240hz capable) and have no other video glitches when things are running well.

In my case, the solution was simple. Create an empty wav file and play it at zero volume with Windows Media Player on repeat, when ever I am viewing TV through the laptop. I simply created a Schedule Task that runs the silent sound wave file whenever I sign
in. Any sound file will do, obviously you set windows media player volume to zero...

I cannot speak on how you can possible solve this problem on set top boxes, but I would bet that it's related to the same 'loss of input' detection causes XBOX ONE to not refresh the output HDMI signal.

The obvious thing Microsoft should do here is have this 'loss of signal detection' code optionally disabled by users in the XBOX ONE settings. Or at least add some level of delay before stopping the video refresh.

The one thing that did annoy me was when I walked this through with a MS XBOX support rep, they said that playing laptops or PC's into XBOX ONE is not supported use and only live TV is supported. Well, for all those people out there who invested in Microsoft
Media Center, I guess that means your investment is all for naught if want to use XBOX ONE as well.

Given the length of this thread and the number of set top boxes that appear to be affected, I would say this issue should move up the developer radar of top bugs that need addressing.

Talking to fellow technologists, one of the main drivers for people to buy XBOX ONE (many of who are non-gamers and are buying an XBOX for first time) is the heavily marketed story of XBOX becoming the center of the living room. If Microsoft is serious about
that story, then this needs addressing as a initial poor user experience will certainly be off putting. The TV home theater market is very use to plug and play (i.e. It just works), they will not tolerate well any product that fails to live up to marketing.

If the XBOX ONE Live TV Program Manager happens to read any of these posts, then I would strongly recommend (s)he take note.
