xbox One S picture flickers

After the recent update I had a problem with some apps that would crash when opening them, after some help I was able to resolve it with a console reset. since then when using apps that can run 4K my picture while view the app or game flickers

Live TV Flickers

I'm not sure if this is the same issue that was mentioned in other threads, but when I try to watch live tv on my Xbox One the picture flickers at a steady rate. Meaning the picture fluctuates between the picture and a black screen every second or so. Any
suggestions?

 

TV Flickering on HDMI Pass-through

Having same issue with tivo from virgin. Picture is okay when full screen but when snapped it flickers.

If you still have issues with flicker try
How to reset your console to factory defaults on Xbox One. Just keep in mind that the "keep my games and apps" option still removes your profiles. If you have already tired that do the "remove everything" option.

If it continues after that try
Contacting Xbox Customer Support and see what options or information would be available.

 

hi George, thanks for the advice it help, I turned off 4K and HDR which stopped the flicker on my screen which is great but hopefully after the next update im able to use 4K and HDR again

Does every game or app flicker when being viewed?

If your TV supports 4K and HDR then I would try the other HDMI ports on your TV for troubleshooting purposes. Also if you happen to have another high speed HDMI cable, I would test that out as well.

We definitely would like for 4K and HDR to work for compatible apps or videos on the Xbox One S if you have a compatible TV. Sometimes the updates may get corrupt during the factory reset and generally if you experience a new issue after the reset, then
maybe it wouldn't hurt to try a
soft factory reset one more time.

its seems to only flicker when I use Netflix, Prime video, GoW4 and SWBF2 while I have 4K and HDR active and I also loose sound. the strange thing I find is that I use the streaming apps on my smart tv and there seems to be no problem, also I've used the
app on my PS4 and I don't get the same issue which I find very odd.

I had changed the picture settings to 1080p and it seems to solve the problem. the only question I have is, if I do another soft reset and still doesn't solve the issue. I will be doing another soft reset today. ad let you know what were the results

Hi, I've retested my Xbox one s and the results were that is was a combination of software and hardware. I had done another soft reset, then I changed the cable and port. after that I used the original port and now works just fine.
