    Xbox One S performs terribly in games within its supposed range


    Well guys, this one's a doozy.

    After firing up my new console for the first time, (it was used, but there was no visible hardware damage) I decided to download one of my favorite games, FH4. After downloading for what seemed like forever, I excitedly loaded up to the game to find that the
    framerate I was getting was around 15 - 20 during active play (driving around, drifting, etc.) while if I did absolutely nothing and just left the controller on the table or just chilled in the menu I could get the advertised framerate of 30 fps. A bit troubling,
    and I decided to investigate more. I looked around for solutions on the web, which mostly consisted of clearing the cache, hard rebooting, resetting, blah blah blah. Nothing worked. The only improvement I found was by turning off game recording, which only
    increased to active fps to about 17 - 24.

    I saw a lot of people condemning the Xbox One S as something with poor performance, but:

    1: I've seen other people play FH4 on their Xbox One S's. It works fine.

    (Note: The people that I've seen play FH4 have a disk copy. I just downloaded mine from the store, as I already bought the game on my PC as well.)

    2: Why would an Xbox Exclusive game run so poorly on an
    Xbox console?

    3: Many of the comparisons online show that the detail, graphics, and effects are phenomenal on the One S, AND it still runs at 30 fps, no problem.

    In the end, it probably is a hardware problem, and I would happily accept and suggestions and possible fixes.

    That's only a preview game. Shortly within a day some other regions are added and it's still 0.5 version.

    this game is still in preview as well its on the devs ; you can try gears of wars 4 and it very different so fps is on the devs not on the one x.

    People have to remember this is in the early previews and only just came out, so you shouldn't expect a fully working game. It has nothing to do with the older consoles holding it back, this game still requires a lot of work, just like it did when it was
    first on pc early access, so give a couple of months.

    Saying that the game was ok for me yesterday and I'm playing it on the Xbox One S, the only part that looks terrible is when you're parachuting onto the island, but once you land I find the game looks ok. But I'm really addicted to this game, I love it.

    Funny people mention 30/60fps because I can never really tell the difference.

    So what them parching bugs is going to make the over all performance better dont make me laugh
    When it was first on early access on the pc it was just as bad performance wise, and even now it's still not perfect, so maybe give it time. This game is probably a year off to be fully complete, so it's too early to complain.

    Eh, there's a few factors at play. Firstly, we're in game preview. Secondly, part of this is just the game design itself. PUBG isn't a beautiful game on any platform.

    However, as far as load times go--you should absolutely see a marked difference between the X and S. I have both consoles hooked up side by side, to wireless internet (300 down 30 up), and when I play with a friend my game loads MUCH faster on my One X than
    the One S. If you're not seeing a difference between these, maybe run some speed tests on your internet and if they're under 100 down, I'd say you should probably have your provider check out your service or maybe see about increasing your internet speed.
