  1. XBOX ONE S overheating

I have XBOX ONE S connected to SONY KD65XD9305

Playing game FORTNITE after a few minutes it overheats and shuts down. The fan is running all the time at very low speed, not

increasing rpm at all. I can feel "hot" air coming out of mesh. The airflow is not blocked in any way!

Connecting smaller TV with HDMI there is no problem. I believe XBOX creating bigger picture is not able to do it !!?

    Why fan is not controlled???!

How can Microsoft releae such faulty product? It is a catastrophic and epidemic problem!

    Microsoft explain!

    :)

Do you get an actual error message that the console is overheating, or is the console simply turning off without any message?

As for "epidemic" problem, two of my consoles (a Xbox One X and the original Day One Xbox One) are running on a 55'' TV and on a video beamer to a 3 meter silver screen, without overheating or other issues. So I wouldn't call it "epidemic".

  6. I have XBOX ONE S and it IS epidemic failure!!! Why it works with small screen? Or with big screen but simpler game not asking for so much computation?!

  7. And it shuts simply down without any message.

Why it does not increase fan RPM?!

  10. I opened that crap and replaced thermal paste between XBOX CPU and heatsink - the original one was not there and was everywhere around!!! There is plenty of videos on youtube how to disassemble this crap XBOX ONE S. I am not the only one

    with overheating crap!

Now that crap managed to work up to 57 minutes! Still not enough! Fan always at low speed!!! Bill, wake up! You employ non competent people!

Then I "inplemented" genious Arduino Nano that provides 25kHz and duty 50%, so it controls fan to run at 50% rpm. Having made this change I realized that internal 12V power supply not always turns off and stays ON !!! Bill, now you should really

consider to fire a lot of people from your factory producing such a crap!

Now with fan running at 50% rpm fixed (compromise between noise and funcionality) it is able to work 2 and a half our, then we switched off this crap...

Bill, be brave, and tell us the whole truth!

I WANT MONEY COMPENSATION FOR THIS CRAP XBOX ONE S !

Bill Gates had his last day at Microsoft in 2008. His successor, Steve Ballmer has also already been replaced 2014 with the current boss at Microsoft: Satya Nadella.

The Xbox One S launched 2016 - 8 years after Bill Gates left the company. So he has nothing to do with your fan not working as you would want it to work. He's currently busy providing medicine to children in third world countries, so he has other important
things on his agenda than a console fan. ;-)

    Since you already
    McGyvered a working solution
    , maybe you want to
apply for an engineering job at Microsoft
to make the next console better?

  12. I am not really interested what Bill is doing now, I am not following him so I did not have such info provided it is true what you write...

So I need email contact to crap-designers but it seems they do not exist..

Can you give me a glue where to find them?

This forum is a community forum, where gamers like you can talk and help other users voluntarily.

The official staff usually does not read these forums.

If you need to contact official Xbox support, you can do so at
    https://support.xbox.com/contact-us

However, since you already opened your console, Microsoft will not service your console anymore. So there really is no point in contacting them now.

If you really need to tell the engineer that developed the Xbox One what he did wrong back then, you can
    try to do that here.

    One S overheating issues?

    Hi

I have not heard of any overheating issues with the Xbox One S.

As for the question reference playing Xbox 360 games on Xbox One console does also include playing the games online.

    xbox one S overheated

The Xbox One consoles have a temperature sensor built in, and if the console detects it's becoming too hot, it will show a specific error message on the screen telling you so.

If the console turns off without that warning, and you touch the case of the console (especially the venting area on the top), it is very normal for the console to "feel" hot. The console will heat up to around 60°C without issues as long as the cooling
system works, and therefore the air coming out of the console will feel "hot". But this is normal operation.

If the console detects a heat problem, it will throttle the processor to let it cool down automatically, and display a warning on your TV screen.

Should you still think that the console is defective after you did the troubleshooting steps from M3tal Daz3 and JhonSnow777 you need to sign up your console for repair at
    https://devicesupport.microsoft.com

    xbox one S overheated

If the console overheats and shuts down, this is an indication that your console is getting too hot, and you may need to adjust its placement or remove items that may be blocking vents.

Follow these tips to make sure your console can ventilate properly:

    • Do not block ventilation openings on the console. Even something that seems insignificant, like a disc case, may limit ventilation. Make sure the power supply, which has a built-in fan, also has adequate ventilation. See

About the Xbox One power supply
      .
Note This is not applicable to the Xbox One S or Xbox One X, which have an internal power supply.
    • Do not place the console or power supply on a bed, sofa, or other soft surface that may block ventilation.
    • Do not place the console or power supply in a confined space, such as a bookcase, rack, or stereo cabinet, unless the space is well ventilated.
    • Do not place the console or power supply near any heat source, such as a radiator, heat register, stove, or amplifier. Very hot heat sources can damage the console.
    • Avoid excessively dusty environments, which can reduce thermal performance.
If your console consistently shuts down automatically due to ventilation problems, even after the console is free from clutter and no vents are obstructed, it will need service.

    You can
    request a repair
from Device Support. Console registration is required to service your console.

    Xbox One S overheating

Hello, this issue could be result from different causes, console overheating, problems with the power supply or connection problems, in the following link you will be guide trough a process to find out wich one could be the cause of this issue in your
    console.

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/console-turns-off-unexpectedly

Let us know if these sugestions fix your issue, or if you need more assistance?
this unfortunately does not help my issue, as i think it might be something going on with my fan or the build that messed with my PWM port for my fan. my fan no longer spins as much. i got it to run the fan for 2-3 minutes and then the fan quits. i know
the fan is good if it does spin. i am hoping that it isnt the fan as i am currently looking at aftermarket fans (i might consider on the be quiet! silentwings 3 PWM fan to install into my xbox one s as a replacement) to see if that fixes anything, and i am
thinking of getting an aftermarket stand with fans as well that way i dont wind up with any issues. im just hoping someone can at least help figure out what is going on entirely and if the Insider Alpha has damaged my fan controller that the xbox throttles,
or if the fan has officially failed after 3 or 4 years of owning it
