    Xbox One S only running without the disc drive in


    I noticed a problem with my Xbox one s, every time I'd try to turn it on it would only stay on for 30 seconds and then shut back off. I took it apart and tested the power supply and each one of the pins was around 11.8 volts. I took the disc drive out and turned on the Xbox and it stays running. I tried taking how the hard drive and turning it on without that in and it did the same thing, turned on but didn't stay on. I put the hard drive back in and took the disc drive out again and hooked the Xbox up to my t.v and it's working. Right now it's acting like a new Xbox and making me do a big update but it keeps giving me the e100 error. Does anyone know what I should do?

    only the Xbox one S remake is digital only but if Microsoft was gonna stick without disc drives alot of game shops could close down

    It is supposably going to be just a standard xbox one s without the disc drive, It;s also supposed to be cheaper than an xbox one s aswell.

    Unfortunately no. The Xbox One Edition of the game was discontinued years ago for the current edition which is the only one available digitally. The only way to play the Xbox One Edition now is by using the disc without upgrading. Since the Series S doesn't have a disc drive, that wouldn't be possible.

    if i took the cd drive out of an xbox one s and attached it via usb to an xbox series s, would it be able to run discs?
