    Xbox One S - Offline Update


    Hello,

    My Xbox one S (maybe 2-3 years old) has stopped working as in when turn it on the screen stays black (occasionally loads to a white/green screen where it freezes). I have tried everything including the two factory reset options. Once trying to keep my
    games and then the other to reset it 100%. Neither of these work (E106 and E102 codes), so I tried the next step which included downloading the OSU1 offline update file to a USB drive formatted as NFTS or something. I start up the xbox in troubleshoot mode
    to start the offline update, but it always gets stuck at 3% way through verifying the update (47% through the update as a whole). When this fails, I get the 106 error, which is recommended to shut down xbox and unplug for 30+ seconds before retrying the reset
    and/or offline update.

    Anyone have any other ideas of what to do or why the offline update is getting stuck at this point? Or, do I just need a new xbox/repair at this point?

    Hi,

    Yes the Xbox One X works the same as the Xbox One and Xbox One S, update wise for games and console updates.

    While it is advised to connect the console to the internet, you should be able to go offline as mentioned on the support page that Smwutches

    This is the same for any Xbox One console, so regular, S and X

    I have a xbox one s and halo 5 on disc . I would get the disc version of this game install it offline that way you can skip the update . I did this before on my xbox one s.

    Yes the Xbox One X works the same as the Xbox One and Xbox One S, update wise for games and console updates.

    Thank you for the info. I was let to believe that the X model handles games differently from the older models due to its ability to use the 4k updates of games.
