    Xbox One S Offline update stuck at 86% and can't get out of loop


    Good morning

    My Xbox One S was working fine yesterday, until my wife said it was a bit laggy and she restarted it.

    She even sent an error report using the xbox.

    I think during this time the xbox picked up that there is an update and tried to start with it, but didn't complete it successfully.

    I tried restarting it from the troubleshoot mode (using the bind+eject+power button method, to access the menu).

    There I was confronted with the xbox freezing at 50% completion with the Factory Reset (which I only attempted after multiple attempts of getting the Xbox to start up).

    After this process, I found online how to do an offline system update. I downloaded the latest OSU1 file from the Microsoft Xbox support centre. The problem is when I try and use it, it ends up getting stuck at 66% applying the update and 86% completion overall.

    I have made the hard decision of trying to rather just do a factory reset and have the troubleshooter/wizard remove all the things on the xbox (luckily games are on an external), but the issue is whenever I use the troubleshooter menu to try and do this, it immediately goes back to the update screen and gets stuck at the 66%/86% point.

    Is there a way of basically forcing the xbox one s out of this loop?

    XBOX Offline update and Reset both stuck at 86%

    No as stated in my original question the OFFLINE UPDATE with an OSU usb stick also gets stuck at 86%

    I do not get any screen or error code when it reaches 86% it just gets stuck.

    Its been stuck like this for nearly 24 hours and still no progress and i done a hard restart and I turned it off and unplugged it for a couple of hours and it keeps on getting stuck at 66%/86%. I NEED HELP PLS.

    I have a Xbox one S, I've tried everything first time I had it working i had my wierd connection in and it worked straight away. I pulled the usb out from doing a offline system update and I went to load a game in it crashed and switched off it went on the
    green loading screen for about 10 minutes before I turned it off again to do a factory reset to the system and do process all over again.

    But that's when it got stuck on 86% & it was applying the update when I was doing a offline update and its stayed like that for 30 mins.
