  1. Xbox One S not upscaling to 2k

    Hello everyone,

I just upgraded my Xbox One to an Xbox One S.

Considering I have a gaming 2k monitor, I thought I was gonna benefit of the upscale to 2k, but I have just found out that the upscale is only to 4k. Not upscaling to 2k, it's like supporting 1080p but not 720p.

I think this could be easily fixed with an update.

    What do you guys think?

    Thank you everyone.

    :)

  3. Does Xbox One S suportt 2k resolution? Upscaling?

The Xbox One supports the following resolutions:

    -480p (non-recommended, bare minimum)

    -720p

    -1080i

    -1080p

-4K UHD (only for Xbox One S)

"2K" is not exactly a standard TV resolution, but maybe you're attempting to use a monitor with a resolution of 2560x1440, or 2560x1600? Something along those lines? Whatever the native resolution of your 2K display happens to be, the Xbox will likely attempt
to output at 720p or 1080p, and you'll either see stretching and/or black bars to accommodate for the 16:9 aspect ratio it tries to force. The Xbox One does not support resolutions other than the ones listed above.

  4. Xbox One S not upscaling to 2k

Microsoft have a history of doing this with the Xbox One.

The One does not support 1080i despite the older 360 doing so.

HDMI does not consider 2K/1440p a standard resolution.

No TV supports it so MS aren't going to either as the console is meant for TV's. It's technically possible Microsoft could support 2K but I wouldn't imagine it happening, try posting suggestion on Xbox Uservoice.

    XB1S 1080p vs 1440p: Looks worse

Hello again, I understand but the Xbox On S will do with the 2k the same upscaling that does with the 4K, so the naked eye you will not notice difference.

Games rendered at 1080p will be upscaled to 1440p, in the same way that they're upscaled to 4K if you have a display to support it.

Does 4K on xbox one x work on all games?

No, but you can upscale on your TV or Monitor. I have a One S and upscale to 4K.
