Xbox One S not updating and not connecting to internet

Here are a few troubleshooting steps that you can try:



1. Check your internet connection: Make sure that your Xbox One S is connected to the internet and that your internet connection is stable. You can test your internet connection by going to Settings > Network > Network settings > Test network connection.



2. Clear the cache: Clearing the cache on your Xbox One S can help resolve issues with downloads and updates. To do this, press and hold the power button on your Xbox One S until it turns off. Then unplug the power cord from the back of the console and wait for 10 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and turn on your Xbox One S.



3. Check for updates: Make sure that your Xbox One S is up to date with the latest system updates. To check for updates, go to Settings > System > Updates & downloads > Console update available.



4. Try a wired connection: If you're using a wireless connection, try connecting your Xbox One S to your router using an Ethernet cable. This can help improve download speeds.

My wife uses a Xbox One S in offline mode. It has not been connected to the internet after the initial updates. She uses it to play a bunch of kart like racers. I have offered to connect it, but she does not want to deal with updates.

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support. I am sorry to know about the console situation; However, I believe your console might need just a system refresh to perform the system update successfully. I would like you to go through the following steps to perform a quick power cycle.

I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

If you are still getting the same issue, I would like you please to kindly follow the instructions below to physically reset your console:

- Turn off the console unplug all the cables then re-plug them back again.

- Since the console is an all digital one, click on the "Bind" button, after 10 seconds click the home "X" button just once without letting go of the button. Throughout the whole process you will hear two beep sounds and end up with a troubleshooting page. On your screen. You will need to select the "Reset this Xbox" option and choose "Reset and keep my games and apps".

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you to sign in to the account.

Same problem here in the uk. Internet connection showing usual 40Mb/s speed

Every time I go to download a game or patch updates I'm getting less than 2Mb connection speed on Xbox One
