Xbox One S not turning TV on or off

What I did was turn off reciver while tv and xbox one s was running, restart xbox one s while reciver was off, tv was on and hdmi chain went thru reciver, tok the check and all checks went green and everything worked, got HDR and 4k, then i just reset my
xbox one s, turned on my reciver, and all checked out fine and worked fine still. I have yamaha rx-a2050

to turn the tv on and off uses the ir blaster function, if that has stopped working then you may need to retrain it, all the xbox's in my house still work fine with turning the tv on and off viaa the IR blaster.

Xbox does not support CEC, the xbox does not have the ability to change source on the tv, but if the tv is not turning on when the console comes on you may need to retrain the IR blaster function again.

I recently bought an Xbox One S.

Having previously set up my Nintendo Switch to automatically turn on my TV when turned on, I know how great CEC is, so naturally I decided to look at how to do the same with the Xbox.

I have checked my TV settings and confirmed that CEC is on. (As well as my Switch is still working just fine to control my TV, so I know it's not a problem with my TV.)

I have connected the Xbox correctly, set up the TV in the settings, as well as set "turn on Xbox" to send "turn on" signal and "turn off Xbox" to send "turn off" signal.

I've also tested with the settings set to "toggle" and it also does not work.

The Xbox can control my TV in other ways (sound, menu, etc) without a problem.

I've checked the instructions in other threads and followed them. Including a hard reset of my console.

Despite all of this, my Xbox is still unable to turn on or off my TV.

Please help. Is this a known error?

I have had the same issues since an update was pushed. I sent a error log to Microsoft through the xbox. I have a 2016 vizio 4k tv with cec. I have tried cec off, on in the tv settings and nothing worked. Tried auto detecting after clearing the tv in the
xbox settings and chose toggle that did not work. I also tried to add the tv manually and the remote codes manually, nothing is working. Short of resetting the xbox , which i don't want to do i feel that is a software issue. I reset the tv settings to factory
just to see if that helped and that did not make a difference other than i now have to sign back into all my streaming apps.....

xbox does not support CEC

Be that the case, I dont need the xbox to control the input (which is what cec is for) i want the xbox to turn on and off the tv respectively. That feature no longer exists and i did before. THat is the point of this thread for the powering on and off of
the tv through the xbox. THanks @Tezzarrific
