Xbox one s not turning on and clicking noise

Ok I recently got an xbox one s for christmas and today I finally was able to play and I played for about 60 minutes this morning and it was fine. Then I gave It about a 30-40 minute break and then when I got back on it was fine for about 10 minutes. Then
it froze over and over again then would fix itself after like 10 seconds of it freezing but then it froze for good and I sat there for about 10 waiting for about 10 minutes to unfreeze but it never did so I turned of the xbox not really thinking about it.
But I tried to go back on it and it will turn on but not show anything on the t.v. and will click constantly then after about a minute it will just shut off on it's own. I researched some things and it said a faulty hard drive and I was wondering what to do
from here because I've never run into this problem with the original xbox one so please help.

When you swapped your console out, on the new XBox1S, did you set it up to automatically keep your games up to date?

I'm wondering if the freeze you are experiencing is a result of all the games attached to your account are downloading to the new console while you are playing a game.

The constant clicking sounds a lot like the HDD is failing. You might consider setting it up for a repair.

it was coming from the hard drive. i did an internet seach and the clicking noise was similar to the "hard drive click of death". A failing hard drive.

My cousin's xbox one S made the same clicking noise with no beep, the clicking in his xbox was coming from the fan

You need to change SSD. That will problem solved.

Mine is XBOX ONE S.

SSD: LEXAR 512 GB SSD.

Before Install SSD.

and you need to download used Offline Update into USB.

then Press and Hold BIND and EJECT, then Press Power.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select System > Settings > Power & startup.

Select Power mode & startup, then choose the options you want.

The options would be "energy-saving", which is the fully power down when turned off mode, and "instant-on" which is the 'fast start up mode' referenced earlier, and would potentially keep the storage and other items on in a low power state so that it can
download updates for games or the system while 'powered down'.
