  2. I have an HDFury Integral that I occasionally use for some HDR testing on displays. A lot of people use them with success to hook up 4K bluray players to first gen 4K tv's. From a techie standpoint they are impressive pieces of kit. They are pricey but they
have a wealth of capabilities and I recommend them

The Linker is an advanced scaler and would probably be better suited to what you are trying to do. Actually I am about to purchase a Linker for myself in order to hook up my One S to my 1080p PC capture card. I'm looking forward to playing with it.

I understand a bit of the differences between the two there is also a lot about the two in the sense of comparison I didn't understand. Why would anyone need the Integral over the Linker other than to downscale? If that is the only reason, the price seems
a bit much but it probably does take more to downscale a source than it does to upscale it or to strip something out of it.

Make sure your other HDMI cables are at least version 2.0.

  5. They are complimentary devices that have different capabilities. The Integral is also a year old while the Linker was only released a month ago. The price on the Linker is cheaper than the Integral because of introductory pricing. The pricing between the
    two will eventually be identical.

The Integral has more capabilities for extracting audio (particularly useful for people who have older receivers/amplifiers with no HDMI inputs) and can be used as either an HDMI splitter or an HDMI matrix.

The Linker primarily acts as a video scaler (both up and down, which is rare at this price point) and a chroma/color converter. It can act as a switch but has no splitter or matrixing abilities.

Both can handle HDCP issues and have advanced EDID management. There will be a new device from HDFury sometime next year, and details are scarce but I suspect it will be a melding of these two products into one. I also expect that it will end up being somewhat
    more expensive as well.

  6. Wow thank you Nillaz! I have been struggling with my One S, Pioneer VSX-1130k, and Samsung KS8000 for weeks. It would recognize most 4K capabilities (even though the setup supports them all). I'd have everything set up, then turning on the console or opening
a video app would randomly bump it back to 720p and I'd have to restart everything and get it to recognize 4K and enable all the options again. Browsing the forums I found this thread and checked the Pioneer manual and there was indeed a buried 4:4:4 setting
for my receiver too. Now all of the capabilities are recognized and all the boxes are checked!

If anyone has the same receiver or similar Pioneer, power off, hold the Enter button on the receiver, power it on, release Enter button. use the up/down arrow to show the correct HDMI input, then use the right/left arrow to set it to 4:4:4. After a few seconds
it will automatically save and power on with the new setting.

The quickest way to find if and how you need to do something like this on your receiver is probably to download the pdf manual for the receiver and do a Crtl+F to find "4:4:4"

    Thanks again!

This is most likely caused by the receiver. What video mode is your receiver in? On a Yamaha I believe it must be in Mode 1. Pure Direct is not what you are looking for.

Power off the receiver. Press and hold the straight button and turn the receiver back on. When the menu comes up toggle right until you get to 4K mode. If not in Mode 1 toggle it on. Power off the receiver, then power everything back up and check your 4K
    status on the xbox again.

    Hope this helps.

Please I got a pioneer vsx 1130 k and is in video pure mode, how do I change what you are saying in my receiver, thanks in advance.

I would have said that the problem is almost certainly a lack of HDCP 2.2 in your television but the fact that you say your Roku will display this content kind of weirds me out. I still lean towards that being the problem and if so would suggest an HDCP
stripper. The problem is that those strippers can be kind of pricey (mine cost around $250 USD) and that I don't have significant confidence that this will resolve the issue. I'm sorry I wish I had a better answer.

Xbox One S not recognizing full 4K capabilities through 4K AV receiver

I have a Hisense 65" K680 TV, which is a 2014 model. It doesn't support 60Hz or HDR but does support 4k at 50Hz, 30Hz, and 24Hz, which I have checked along with 4k in the Advanced Settings. Whether directly connected to the TV or through the receiver, it
doesn't pass setting it to UHD for the resolution but it doesn't appear that the XBOX One S even sends out a 4k signal to the TV. Between a Roku 4 and Zidoo X6 Pro Android box, both of them display 4k just fine directly connected and through the receiver.

The Hisense TV doesn't have a way to set the resolution of the input because the TV detects the signal being sent out by the source and adjusts to what it needs to display. When I change the resolution on the Roku 4 from 1080p to 4k, the TV flickers and
then changes the resolution to 4k and the same applies with the Android box. However, the XBOX One S doesn't seem to do this. I have tried a 4k video file on all 3 but the XBOX One S is the only thing that won't play it. I don't have a UHD Blu-Ray to try
and don't have another 4k TV to try it on. Netflix, Prime Video, and Vudu show no 4k content through my One S but I can see and watch those through the Roku 4 without any issues.

I was curious about the receiver thing to see if maybe there was something else I could try to at least get the One S to play Netflix, Prime Video, and Vudu on the 4k TV so I could keep the Roku 4 in the bedroom on the 1080p TV in there.
