    Xbox one S not recognizing 4k through receiver


    My Current set up Xbox one S plugged into BD/DVD on back of Onkyo HT-RC370 the Monitor out to

    Sharp Lc-75n8000u when directly plugged into receiver no 4K capabilities at all are available. When I plug directly into the TV I get the lowest Hz for 4K but not the higher 2 for Movies/TV. I have tried everything. Please help

    Xbox One S not recognizing 4K capabilities through 4K AV receiver

    Go into the 'Advanced menu' (holding down the straight button and power button on the front of the Reciever at the same time when the amp is in stand-by) - then cycle across to the 4K mode, chose '1', then power off the amp.

    Once you've tried this, let us know the result.

    Hi

    If you download you AV receivers manual from the manufactures website
    here     it appears that your receiver only supports an input resolution up to 1080P on HDMI and only offers 4K upscaling on the out HDMI port.

    Thank you for your support I truly appreciate it. I did download the manual but I'm new to alll of this and didn't quite understand. What do you suggest ? Maybe best is to do hdmi to TV then optical to receiver ?

    As you suggest it looks like your best option would probably be to connect your console via HDMI cable directly to the television and then connect your console to the AV receiver via an optical cable.

    As you suggest it looks like your best option would probably be to connect your console via HDMI cable directly to the television and then connect your console to the AV receiver via an optical cable.

    My TV doesn't support HDR at all but it is 4k capable. I have tried having the XBOX One S directly connected to the TV and through the receiver with no luck getting anything 4k out of the One S.
