    Xbox one s not playing 4K blurays


    I have noticed that since either the latest system update (or possibly Blu-ray app update), normal Blu-ray movies don't upscale to 4k anymore. They only stay at 1080p. I've tried everything, and it only stays at 1080p.

    As soon as I go back to the dashboard or play games, it'll revert back to 4k. But as soon as I put a Blu-ray in, back to 1080p. And it was working beautifully before the last system update (the one that released on the 5th August), and Blu-rays all upscaled
    to 4k.

    This needs looking in to MS.

    I think it is safe to say if you get the HDCP error that you might have a faulty system. I would exchange it asap or call Xbox support for replacement.

    See, mine worked fine on August 3. I watched a 4k blu ray on Thursday the 4th. My log shows that on August 6, a new update was pushed. That happened in the morning and when I tried to play another 4k blu ray in the afternoon, it wouldn't play. I have tried
    6 different discs, all from different studios, as well as changing hdmi cables and trying all the hdmi ports. My tv has 4 gdmi prots and all 4 are complaint with the newest standard. So it was either the software update or something else. I think it was the
    update. I check and I have not had a software update to my tv since I first set it up.

    It was totally the update and it's bull****. Everything was fine before the update, really glad I spent 400 dollars on this 1080p blu ray player. Just picked up the 4K of oblivion and it won't even play. I mean come on, who checks these updates before
    they get released. I should just return this and get a 4K blu Ray player and be done with this crap.

    The update *** everything up, my 4K of oblivion I just bought doesn't work and my blu Rays no longer upscale to 4K. Sure glad I spent 400 on this piece of crap machine.

    The new minor update that released on the 5th seems to be the culprit... people seem to be having many different issues with Blu-ray playback in particular.

    I've been in contact with Support on Twitter, but we need more people complaining about it because I haven't even seen anyone at MS acknowledge it. Watching Blu-rays in 4k is the reason I bought an S!

    The HDMI IN on the XBOX ONE / ONE S / ONE X are all just 1080P there is no 4K pass through on those consoles.

    The Xbox One S Supports 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution - not 4K gaming

    The Xbox One X Supports 4K Gaming, 4K Bluray and 4K screen resolution

    - Game developer has to make the game 4K

    - 4K pass-through is a hardware feature that does not exist within the console. You'd be better

    off running your 4k Sky Q into the TV directly. (the xbox is doing what it's designed to do)

    Every bluray I have (one 4k UHD Bluray and dozens of regular bluray titles) does not work with the Xbox One S I have. They work just fine in my other Xbox One (regular 500gb, not S or elite XBO, and obviously not the 4k UHD bluray) but every time I get an
    HDCP error for 5 minutes flipping between the error screen and bluray app frozen, then it just tells me it cannot read the disc. Apparently the Xbox One S needs a different bluray app than the regular Xbox One bluray app. Maybe if the community was allowed
    to make a bluray app for the Xbox One S it could save Microsoft some face since I have more faith in the community at fixing a problem via their own bluray app than Microsoft fixing it.

    Well two things first xbox one s is NOT a 4k console

    Second it's only when you play UHD movies or streaming UHD content that you get 4k from an xbox one s

    Projectors aren't the greatest for 4k compatibility it's more for.computers and blurays then consoles which are more stricter to vesa
