Xbox One S not detecting my TV properly

So when I use the Advanced 4K Details option to check my TV's compatibility, it says that I can't stream 4K media or use HDR for gaming. It only upscales to 4K. I have a Samsung 55" 7-Series UN55KU7000FXZA that is supposed to have HDR. They label it
HDR Premium. According to every publication I can find online, HDR Premium is one of the names for the HDR10 standard that Samsung uses so there's no reason it should not work. I checked my TV settings and could not find an option specific to HDR. I'm also
confused as to why it is saying I can't stream 4K media when there are apps built into the TV that can stream 4K. Something is clearly wrong and I'm very upset. I spent a lot of money on these devices for them to just not work. Has anybody else had an issue
    like this?

    :)

    Its there but it isn't

To clarify, did you previously set up a cable box with your Xbox One? I was under the impression your Xbox One was not detecting your TV.

try turning your xbox one on with your tv off - then turn on your tv.

i find with mine when i switch inputs i need to turn my tv off then on for it to pick it up.

I have the same problem. 4K blu-Ray works but nothing else because it says my tv doesn't support 10 bit color. It shows only 8 bit and 12 bit.

I can't even an option to change the color bit on my TV. I don't know enough about TV's but is this something that they can update via firmware/software on the Xbox in the future?

  7. Hey, I just bought the XB1S solely for 4K Blu Ray, but I seem to be having the same problem.

    My TV
    (here)
is a 4K UHD TV and while I have the 1S connected via the provided HDMI cable, it won't acknowledge that it's even capable of displaying at 25/30Hz.

Want to know what's going on here, pretty annoyed because I only got it to replace the current bluray player for 4K. Xbox One S not detecting my TV properly :(

For the Samsung TV make sure to go to settings and expert settings and then make sure the color settings are ON for your HDMI ports

    Hey all -

Thanks for posting. The first step I would recommend is double
checking your TV's 4K and HDR capabilities
on your Xbox One S console. If, according to that guide, your TV and console should be compatible but you are experiencing issues, please take a look at the

    troubleshooting guide
regarding 4K and HDR on Xbox One S consoles. Additional technical specifications can be found

  11. So after some research, what I've come up with is that 4K on XB1-S isn't possible without HDMI2.0 ports on your TV or without HDCP compatibility, is this correct? Because I'm finding it hard to get a straight answer. I was under the impression that as long
as your TV met the requirements here:
    support.xbox.com/.../checking-your-tv-4k-hdr-capabilities-on-xbox-one-s
    and here: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/console/4k-on-xbox-one-s-technical-requirements then
you were set. Nowhere on either of these pages are HDMI2.0 or HDCP 2.2 mentioned. In fact, the only mention of HDCP 2.2 I can find is on the Troubleshooting page (it's a bit late to be bringing up HDCP 2.2 in the Troubleshooting page when I'm checking to see
if my TV is compatible), but even then, it's extremely vague.

"If some content won't play, make sure your TV supports HDCP 2.2 and that it's turned on in your TV's settings."

"Some Content". So what would be the content that doesn't require HDCP 2.2? And under which circumstances would content not play? Not helpful information when I'm considering making the purchase, too little, too late.

I'm very disappointed that there is nothing at all to say that it requires a specific
type of UHD TV. Not enough information on the Technical Requirements page, not even an asterisk on the box next to the UHD logo.

If it's not compatible with my TV, then there's no point in me having it, I
    only
bought it for the UHD BluRay player.

From what I've been reading, HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 are required for UHD Bluray players so I think you are correct.

    Hi reoDaDam, how are you?

To enable 4K on your Xbox One S, you need to use a HDMI 2.0 Cable, and in your monitor you need to enable HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color for the corresponding HDMI Port (Xbox One S Plugged).

Also, you can check the 4K capabilities here:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide, go to System > Settings > Display
    & sound
, then choose Advanced video settings > 4K TV details.

    Hope this helps!

    Good game! :)
