    Xbox One S not capturing my recordings


    I've had a few instances now when I go to manage captures and select to capture what's happened in the last 15 seconds - 5 minutes, and they are not saving those captures.

    I had an instance yesterday where I selected to capture what happened over the last 5 minutes, and my system gave me the message saying recording captured, but I am now not seeing it on my console, or xbox live captures. This has happened to me in the past
    as well.

    Screen shot feature in next update.

    All I ever want is to take a screenshot sometimes, not really interested in recording stuff, but capturing that funny moment in a picture would be great.

    If you delete some of your older captures do you still see this happen? Also, have you been able to check on xbox.com or the mobile Xbox App to see if the captures are there or are just showing up late?

    recording gameclips on xbox one

    Xbox One S by default captures 1080p with a max of 2 minutes.

    Go to preferences > Broadcast & Capture

    Under capture select Game clip resolution and choose 720p SDR. This will allow you to record 5 minutes. Be warned, the quality of video recordings will drop.

    It seems to me like you're trying to record your xbox 360 gameplay, correct? If that's so, you can't connect your xbox 360 to your xbox one via HDMI in and record through that as the xbox one can NOT record anything coming into the HDMI in port because of
    legal issues with protected content like cable TV, etc.

    You will need an external capture device that has an HDMI in and OUT and a USB connection to a PC and software included to record it on while you play it on a TV, separate from your PC screen. The ElGato HD60 or HD60 S or HD60 Pro can do this. See their

    I just recently turned on my Xbox One today to check my system captures. And nothing but one screen capture I took a few days ago just showed up. No game record captures, as well. I think maybe all the screenshots and record captures got deleted by the
    new February 2020 update. I highly doubt they expired. The Xbox Live captures are still there, just not the internal ones. I need help!

    One Xbox One S and X. Max record time in DVR is 5 minutes with the resolution at 720p. On Xbox One. The DVR max is 15 minutes at 720p. All these settings are found under the Broadcasting and Capture section in Preferences in the settings. Although. That
    is odd that the S and X have a shorter time.
