    Xbox One S Normal Temperature?

    Hey all!

I got a question few days ago i got my first Xbox one S been working great lots of fun..

But i was wondering and wanted to make sure if my temperature are normal?

Anyway when im not playing anything at all of i put my hand over the fan i can geel pretty much cold air..

But when i game lets say doom (2016)

for a while and place my hand over the fan then itll be like a warm exaust feeling its not hot because i can keep my hand there as long as i want its more of a warm feeling.. if i close the game wait like 2 mins then the air is back to cold.

I was wondering if this is normal?

Because i hear stories that people Xbox one slim never get warm during gaming and that it stays that 'cold' no matter what not sure if this is true.

    :)

Sounds about right. You will get a bit of warm air coming out when your playing a game as the console is working a bit harder.

Where you place your console can affect that.Playing a digital copy of a game will generate a little less heat than playing a disc copy of a game but from what you've said it sounds perfectly normal.

And why does disk game give more Heat?

I thought the disk doesnt spin only when it does its check up after that it plays from HDD?

The Xbox 1S is like 40% smaller than the original Xbox 1, and it has a power brick crammed inside it too. The original Xbox 1 has better ventilation because it has a lot more, or shall I say like 40% more "airflow" space. But with your experience, that's
completely fine. The Xbox 1 and Xbox 1S has low-end gaming hardware. It's not like it has an i7-6700k and GTX 1070 which generates a lot more heat, but way better graphics and processing. It's when you get above 50'C when you may start to get a bit concerned.
My GTX 1070 on my custom desktop PC can tolerate up to 94 degrees Celsius, before it starts to throttle. My desktop has several fans but only averages 40-61'C at worse, during intense high end gaming sessions. The hardware can definetly cope with that but
it really shouldn't get above 66 degrees Celsius. However, the cooler the hardware is, the longer it will last. My EVGA GTX 1070 SC has I think a 5 year manufacturer warranty or something.

Little off topic but im curious the Xbox and ps4 rly are like low end pc's? Then how come low end pc's cant get the same performance in the same game as a Xbox?? I think Xbox might have low end pc specs but it performs like a mid range pc because to Lets
say run witcher 3 at 30fps high settings if u want it to run the same on Xbox ull need mid range pc because a low end cannot run witcher 3 at those settings and fps as a xbox

Xbox One would be low end or lower-mid end. It only has DDR3 RAM with a low 68GB/sec bandwidth. the processor is only clocked at 1.75Ghz. Even the i5 6200U on my laptop has 2 cores 4 threads and a base speed of 2.3ghz with turbo to 2.7Ghz. Xbox one definetly
does not compete with mid range gaming pcs.

As for temperatures for xbox 1s, that is completely fine. its when you hit 50'C that you need to start to worry.
