    Xbox One S network connection issues


    I bought an Xbox One S in December and been using it with no issues.

    I then got wifi around the beginning of last month and have been using it to connect only to Xbox Live.

    About a week later i switched on my Xbox and its picking up all the neighbours wifi but not my own, all of the other devices in the house connect just fine with no issues. I moved it closer and i managed to pick up the 5G band but not the 2.4G which i always
    use. I tried a wired connection and that works just fine but its not a connection that i have easy access too.

    I tried restarting my router, I power cycled the xbox, I cleared MAC address and none of these seem to work. I then left it off and the next day it worked. It happens about 1 a week and I noticed that it only happens if I fully power off my Xbox which i
    also prefer to do. I recently got Xbox Game Pass and can’t really enjoy it because of this issue and i would really appreciate some tips or a fix for this issue as i don’t feel that its necessary to keep having to power cycle my Xbox or keep restarting my
    modem.

    Are you experiencing the issue on Xbox 360, Xbox One, or Series X|S? Is there any specific error code/message? There have been a lot of reports related to backwards compatability issues recently.

    If the issue persists, I recommend to try the following to help isolate the issue:

    • Try connecting the Xbox to a different network to help troubleshoot the console itself. If the issue persists, then the console will need to be repaired.
    • If the console connects, this lets us know there is an issue with the network configuration. We recommend to contact the Internet Service Provider.

    Give this a try and let us know the results.
