XBox One S Netflix HDR

So I just swapped to Xbox One S from PS4 Pro in anticipation on the XBOX one X. My wife has been a long time XBOX One S user. I purchased two new 2017 model 4k TV's. Set up the Xbox. It detected the 4k TV. All options were automatically detected and checked
off in advanced settings. Playing the Witcher 3 the TV shows 2160 and normal. Playing GOW4 it shows 2160p /HDR10. When trying to watch Netflix everything shows HDR. Even shows that have no HDR. This makes the picture look not so great. I called support and
unfortunately the person I spoke with didn't seem to even know how Netflix worked and in the end just referred me to Netflix support. After looking through forums this seems to be a know issue with Xbox One S and Netflix since last year. An issue as significant
as Netflix being stuck in HDR for everything seems fairly serious. Are their any solutions to this that I am missing? Any resolution to this matter? I can go buy another Roku for the game room because it seems to work properly, but I was hoping to make this
the main center for everything. This does not give me great trust in the platform. I don't mean to sound rude just very frustrated at this point.

Xbox one S, Netflix dims screen when HDR is enabled

When I finally reached someone at Netflix support who had heard of HDR, I was told (after a lengthy hold) that HDR-always-on is the way the app is supposed to behave. What a joke. Please sign this Change.org petition:

Netflix: No UHD on XBOX One S

I can verify this issue...Netflix UHD does not work on Xbox One S. I have a Vizio M55-D0 with the latest firmware enabling HD10 support. My TV is now recognized by the One S video settings as 4K HDR capable. I am able to enable HDR support and it works beautifully
with the Blu-Ray app (Mad Max 4K Blu Ray playing 4K, 24fps, HDR as verified by the Vizio settings app). However when I start Netflix, the screen flashes, colors mute, and video fails to switch to HDR or 24fps. Netflix app is clearly broken right now for HDR.
If I switch HDR off on the One S, Netflix app is fine, plays 4K correctly, colors are fine obviously no HDR.

Unfortunately there is no fix for this issue short of disabling HDR for your whole Xbox. I was frustrated by it too but I ended up getting a Roku Ultra since it doesn’t suffer from this. Not that I should have had to do this since the Xbox should do it properly.

This is concerning because I find my Xbox One S to be a better option than my PlayStation 4 or Smart TV. I do not like how the image looks with HDR enabled on non-HDR content as it's washed out and blurry. As it stands, I have to use my PS4 Pro for Netflix
and Xbox One S for Amazon Video and Hulu. This is in no way an intended feature because if it was it would happen on every device. A company as big as Netflix has to be aware that HDR on standard content will have a negative effect and for this issue to go
on for so long is unacceptable.

Why is this issue being ignored? I should not have to disable HDR every time I wish to use Netflix. I’m about to downgrade my Netflix plan to not include UltraHD and see if that stops it from triggering HDR but I am not sure if that will be successful. The
loss of color and blurring is unacceptable and the silence both Microsoft and Netflix show towards this is concerning. I don’t want to buy a Roku player or a PS4 media remote so canceling Netflix may be my only option if a fix isn’t implemented within the
next month or two.
