Xbox One S NAT issue

Hi everyone, ive been having a problem with my xbox one s that I bought in december 2018. It all started when I first subscibed to Xbox Live Gold, and I had no issues playing online for about the first couple weeks. Then it started to not be able to connect
to xbox live, and disconnecting me during an online session. As far as I can tell, the first cause of the problem was there wasnt an ipv6 connection at all times, but would come back spontaneously during the day. After some more struggle, I bought a wifi extender
(I can look for the brand and type if needed to find a solution), and once again xbox live worked perfectly for another couple weeks. Then the same problem started happening, except this time, not only would it only register as being connected to ipv4, but
the NAT type would be shown as unavailable. My next solution was to buy a CAT 6 ethernet cable, again fixing the problem for about a week. Since then the problem keeps persisting. Im not much of an electronics person, and im probably asking dumb questions
and looking in the wrong places, but if someone more knowledgable would respond with some input, or let me know if I should provide more information, I’d appreciate it. Thank you.

I'm running (2) Xbox Ones, (3) Xbox 360's and (2) PS3's all with an Open NAT with Port Triggering set. No issues at all.

Hey Sam,

So it looks like your going to need to open up your ports on the router, "NAT" issues tend make gaming online really painful but hopefully once you get that "NAT" type to open it should be smooth sailing from there.

What you need to to do is log into your router and then follow this guide https://support.xbox.com/help/Hardware-Network/connect-network/network-ports-used-xbox-live

If your not comfortable with doing it yourself then you need to get a hold of your ISP who should be able to guide you through it or do it remotely depending on what they can do.

Hello there!

Please try changing you NAT type, because in order for you to connect well and to not have such issue s the NAT needs to be Open.

I would do what Dream Thief said. Thats a very thorough answer.

You should also check to see if your NAT type is strict as that can cause all sorts of connectivity issues.
