Xbox one s mic not working but i can hear people and game voice

Mic is not muted... I tried 2 headset and they both are not working.

But they worked on my phone.. And privacy setting is set to everyone

You see, there are two standards for 3.5mm headset jacks called OMTP and CTIA.

In both standards, the microphone connector and ground connector are reversed.

So if you are using a third party headset for some cellphones, it might be that the headset has an OMTP connector, and the controller is "listening" to the ground pin of the headset, and the headset is "talking" to the ground pin of the controller.

If your headset works on your telephone, you need to buy a cheap OMTP to CTIA adapter (or since that adapter only crosses two wires, it also works the other way around).

Since this adapter only crosses two wires, those should be dirt cheap. If the store you're buying that adapter from asks for more than the price of a coffee to go, you're being ripped off.

Did you check under audio settings to see if the mic is turned off there. I only ask because my friend had the exact problem recently. Has this always been the issue, or did it just start? If it has always been the issue you may want to review what
settings you have set under the privacy settings for your account.

this is about the default xbox mic also I can hear people, I can here everything, the mic just does not register my voice
