Xbox one s making weird sound during update

Before that disc drive replacement, did you notice if your console did that noise as well? If not, probably could be something to do with that disc drive. :/

Would be nice if you could open your console with a professional just to check if there's something wrong there or even if it is badly fitted.

Because it's not normal for a console to present any grinding noises on its hardware parts when just updating the software. :/

That's quite weird. If it means anything, I did the update on my sister's 4GB Xbox 360 S and it started to make loud noises during the download and install. I touched it and it would stop, but it freaked me out. It works though so I have no idea.

Your best bet is to get a repair request going on it, because it sounds like it needs to be repaired.

Sounds weird, because my Xbox one s controller works perfectly fine with Bluetooth

I know it's a weird answer, but it's one I haven't seen yet. On a PC, access and download X1's mandatory update to a flash drive. Then insert the flash into the Xbox and disconnect it from the internet and update it that way. It may just work. Besides,
it sounds like you and everyone else has tried everything.
