    Xbox one s making an annoying noise when is turned off


    Hi, i've got a xbox one s two months ago. But a few days ago, after playing for some hours (no more than five), i turn off my xbox and then the console starts to make a noise. I've seen other posts where people report a low noise, but this sound is noticeable
    from a considerable distance (more than one meter away) so i think it's not normal. Btw, my xbox one is on energy save mode.

    What i do is to disconnect it from the current. What could be the problem? I protect my console from the dust by covering with a cloth, although i wait until the console get a room temperature.

    Hello, for the past few years my Xbox One has always been making this weird noise when it's turned off. It's this loud static noise, that's quite annoying. I'd like to know how to fix it. Thanks!

    I can't believe this. Standby shouldn't need any fans running. Makes such an annoying noise, I keep the Xbox One less than a meter away from me so the noise is definitely audible when there's nothing else making noise. I turned off the instant-on functionality
    which is just a shame. What is Microsoft thinking really? Kinect BS, weaker system, never really goes to standby. Sheesh.

    What type of noise is it making? Is it like a grinding noise?

    Try turning energy saving mode off to see if that helps.

    If it keeps working I wouldn't worry. If you are worried that it might be beginning to fail you could always send it in for repair, but technically everything is working.

    Yeah. it's a sort of grinding noise. Unfortunately now is broken. It turns on but is not starting up and makes the grinding noise.

    The xbox makes the same noise, when on and off. It's almost like the Xbox never shuts down. I don't mind it making noise when it's on, but when it's off and I'm trying to sleep it's pretty annoying.

    My issue is that the fan ticks. The console is set up in a bedroom. When everything is turned off (or on standby), I hear this fast "tick, tick, tick" from the Xbox One PSU. I specifically built my PC to be as close to silent as I could make it, so I can
