XBox One S light turns off then off immediately

It's been broken for a few months now. It has an HDMI cable plugged in. The power cord is in and can only wiggle up and down.

When pressing the button, it makes the noise, shows the light then turns off the next second.

And when I hit the eject button, the light comes back on and turns back off again in the same way.

I've tried different outlets, holding all buttons down. I don't know what to do.

I'm sorry, LeSnoop34 but it seems like you have performed all the necessary steps.

You've mentioned that you can wiggle the power cord. It can be an issue with the cord or the console port itself. In this case, it would be best to get the console repaired. You can sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/devices and check the warranty of your console, you can also create an order from there.

Do you have an Xbox One or Xbox One S? The reason I ask is because the S doesn't have an external power supply, only a power cable.

If your Xbox One console won't turn on, your power supply may be faulty or improperly connected, or there may be another reason. Try the following solutions.

The Xbox One S or Xbox One X console

If the console still doesn't turn on, try the following:

Check that the wall outlet you are using is working with other devices.
Check that the power cable is firmly connected to the wall outlet and to your console.
Ensure that you're using the power cable that came with your console, and that it's the correct cable for your region.

If your console still will not turn on, it will need to be serviced. To request service, sign in to the
Device Support page with your Microsoft account.'

Try a power cycle. Hold the button down for 10 secs.

Or un plug for 10 mins and try again.

Also check the power lead.

Also check that fans are not covered.

When I press the on button:

the Xbox starts up with the on beep

The button light dims; and

Then it shuts down with off beep 1-2 seconds later.

Have detached the external hard drive and tried disconnecting the power for several mins.

I can't do a factory reset as the machine won't stay on for more than 2 seconds, regardless of what buttons I press.

Try holding down on the small button underneath the xbox logo on the console and that xbox button on the console until it starts flashing then wait until the light is solid and isn't flashing.
