Xbox one. S keeps. Switching. From receiver to headphons

If these are wired headphones, consider unplugging them from the controller. If these are wireless headphones, try turning them off when you want to use the surround sound system.

Just like the next generation Playstation 4, the Xbox One is ABLE to give you headphone game sound from the controller.

On the Xbox 360 you are limited to chat sound only.

Also, keep in mind that by using the AV/RCA cable on the Xbox, you do not get HD graphics and are limited to low resolution standard TV resolutions, so you might want to think about investing in an AV receiver with enough HDMI inputs, or getting a HDMI switch.

But as for your sound issue:

If you have an Xbox 360 E model (the rectangular one that looks like the Xbox One), and you're using the AV/RCA plugs, you can get a stereo audio signal from the red and white RCA plugs. You'd "only" need an adapter to go from stereo RCA to any amplifying
headphone.

Or for the original Xbox 360 or S model, that console also has an optical output. For that, there are some headsets with a base station, that you can use to plug in an optical cable, to be able to get surround sound, that then transmits the sound wirelessly
to the headphone.

Unfortunately, due to the age of the Xbox 360, a lot of headset makers discontinued such headphones.

You might try to find some leftover stock or an offer on ebay for a Razer Chimera 5.1 headset, Turtle Beach EarForce X42 and the likes, that have a base station. You can plug an optical cable or the stereo RCA plugs into the base station, which then transmits
the sound wirelessly to the headphone.

I am having the same issue. I can hear stuff, but my voice chat does not work. I have gone through two Xbox One x/s controllers. Both have had the 3.5 mm headphone issues. Why this keeps happening is it a flaw no one has talked about?

I am over having this issue with no real support from Xbox/Microsoft.

The steering wheel box it came in and instructions and website all say the steering wheel is Xbox one compatible which is why we bought this particular brand. There is no switch thats says PC/ console etc- only same buttons that appear on a normal hand controller
and three additional buttons: Share, Home, Options. The instructions for the XBox one connection only require the use of the ‘home’ button.

As for the headphones- They are Turtlebeach headphones and Mic. Hardwired and suppose to be compatible with Xbox one also.

there are no switches on the headphones themselves nor the cord.

Keep in mind there are new advanced controllers out now with ms seil ones coming in march

The new repairable ones from pdp BFG PRO and stealth ultra have hall effects replacable parts and programmable buttons and a built in DAC

Keep in mind these new controllers along with ms seil controllers require an custom adapter not Bluetooth for the new advance polling they use 1000dpi

And no xbox 360 controllers dont use bluetooth you need a xbox wireless connector for pc

Only xbox one s controllers do (the ones with a headphone jack on the bottom ) or the new series s/x controllers with share button and elites 1-2
