Xbox One S Keeps shutting off during online game play

So I got the new Xbox One S Gears of War Edition for Christmas 3 months ago. About two weeks after I got it, it started to seize up and turn itself off during online game play. I tried switching to a wired connection and, instead of shutting off, it will
just randomly disconnect itself from the internet. By the time I go to check the connection, the Xbox has already reconnected itself and says the internet is fine. I have tried EVERYTHING I can to fix this problem (hard reset, factory reset, etc.) but nothing
has worked. This issue hasn't driven me to the point of not even wanting to play games anymore because I know what the end result will be. I'm at the point of sending my Xbox in for repairs but I feel like This is an issue with my internet, not the console.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

new xbox one s shuts off random during start up. tried the restart power and it did not work.

i have had the new xbox one s console for 1 day and now it wont start. keeps shutting off during start. tried the power reset and it didnt work. any other things to fix it?

Hmm. So connecting your console to your home network via Ethernet cable has resulted in your console staying on but random disconnecting from your network now, is that correct? If that's the case, what ISP are you on and what is the make/model of your networking
hardware? It could be that you're getting dropped randomly. Have you looked into

port forwarding on your network to see if that helps?

That is also something I thought might be a problem. But I have added an external fan and the xbox is sitting on top of a shelf and not next to any other objects that might make it warm. The xbox does not feel hot to the touch when it shuts off and it will
shut off after 5 minutes of play even after it has been sitting all day.

Are there other ways that I can ensure that the xbox is not getting too hot?

Change the power source, that is your problem because already in a more extreme case the processor isn't working well or as a last option, check that it has adequate ventilation
