Xbox One S keeps crashing after reaching step 3 of update

The Xbox is stuck on an update loop, every time i turn it on, it tries to update itself and every time without fail, it crashes on 93-98% completion. before it was stuck on this loop, it had troubles including overheating and stuttering.

the only thing i have done to remedy the issue was open it up, and clean dust out of it, due to not knowing how else to fix it, and closed it up. its been stuck like this for the better part of a year, Help Please, i have no idea whats causing this.

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

In this case, we just need to reset your console keeping your games and apps through the Xbox Troubleshooter page. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Make sure to follow the steps accordingly to access it:

1. Unplug the network cable if you're using a wired network connection.

2. Power off your console, and then unplug the power cord to ensure that the console is completely powered off.

3. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in.

4. Press and hold the Pair button and the Eject button , and then press the Xbox button on the console.

5. Continue holding the Pair and Eject buttons for 10-15 seconds.

6. Listen for two “power-up” tones a couple of seconds apart. You can release the Pair and Eject buttons after the second power-up tone.

When the console powers up, you will see the Xbox Startup Troubleshooter. Please click on "Reset this Xbox" then "Reset and keep my games and apps".

I dont have xbox one x . I had xbox one the first model .. and now xbox one S .

And was crashing on some games like ff15 . Vampyr and others like witcher 3. But on witcher 3 after some updates alot of bugs and crash was removed on that updates ..

But ff15 and vampyr i pay alot for those games and years after i cannot finish those games cause they are Brocken on xbox one ..

Some other games i cannot play cause the same Crash and my xbox one s is almost new .

3. Update the Xbox software: Go to "Settings," then "System," and then "Software Update" to see if there are any available updates for the Xbox One S.

4. Factory reset the Xbox: If the above steps don't work, try resetting the Xbox One S to its factory settings.

Did you ever resolve your issue? what did you do?

My Xbox One S recently started booting into the troubleshooter menu after a microsoft update on 3/30. It seems if I unplug the system, it manages to reset and work for a bit, then it'll crash again.

thanks for your time and effort in helping me. Unfortunately I have followed all the steps without success. I have fully restored the console and it keeps crashing. It is very frustrating because on the Xbox one S it does work but on the Xbox Series S it doesn't..

Any idea?
