Xbox One S Issues

Hi,

Experiencing a few issues using the Xbox One S.

Firstly, since the last update, Cortana will not respond to the "Hey Cortana, Xbox On" command from instant on, but when on, she will respond to all commands as normal. The settings on the Xbox show Instant On is there and for voice recognition for this
function.

Secondly, when I switch the Xbox on, the picture appears perfectly on the TV during boot up and login, and then the picture disappears until I select the source on the TV again. This does not happen with any other application or equipment using HDMI on the
TV.

Any thoughts from anyone on either of these?

Need help troubleshooting wifi connectivity issues with my new xbox one s. I never had issues with my original xbox one, but after purchasing my xbox one s I get signed out or disconnected daily. I'm thinking this might be due to having two xbox one consoles
on the same network, but the issues persist even if only one of them is turned on.

Hey, its with Kinect. I've fiddled with the connections and to make sure the USB is secure, which it is.

The other issue, with black screen, seems to be around the HDMI. I've switched off UHD Color setting on the HDMI port on the TV and it seems to be working.

However, with the Kinect switch on, I think my Xbox is having issues, when I get the Xbox on, I get logged in via Kinect but it won't connect to Xbox Live. It won't even search for networks half of the time.

 

Hey Grandma5terFunk! What model TV are using? For Xbox on, try saying "Hey Cortana" and then look to make sure the white light on your Kinect is on before proceeding with "Turn On". The network issue you're having is a known issue that is being looked in
to. The current workaround is to restart the console or continue with Instant On mode off. Post back and let me know if the voice commands work any better! If i get any updates on the network issue, I will let you know.

 

Even "Hey Cortana" doesn't turn the kinect on to hear the rest.

Cortana is on, it works perfectly when the Xbox is switched on. The settings are for Kinect to switch on the TV and Xbox using voice commands, however, it never seems to work.

New symptom last night, which may be connected to the Network issue, when I put the Xbox to sleep last night, the power light was slowly flashing (which I was sure happened when syncing to the cloud before shut down). However, it did it for almost 10 mins
and sporadically, the Kinect sensor would light up and then switch off again too. It was almost as if it did not shut down correctly at all.

 

Hey Grandma5terFunk! I would suggest trying the Xbox commands instead of Cortana and see if that makes a difference. Post back and let me know!

 

It isn't making any difference, Cortana works perfectly when the Xbox is on, but will not accept the command to switch the Xbox on in the first place.

More worryingly, the Xbox will not switch off correctly on most occasions. Each time, the white light on the box pulses slowly and switches the Kinect on and off, its like it is trying to sync and upload to the cloud, but does not give up and switch off.
It did it for 15 mins last night before I just powered it down completely.

I'm concerned that it is becoming faulty.

Hi, yes, i've tried that, it won't switch on using those either. Once manually switched on, both Xbox commands and Cortana work fine.

The issues its now experiencing is, dropping 5Ghtz network frequently, fan is getting louder, won't power off 100% of the time (sitting with a flashing light and powering kinect on and off and won't power TV off....6 hours is its record having been left
overnight). I'm beginning to think this Xbox One S is a dud.
