Xbox One S issue with older Visio tv???

We just bought a new Xbox One S and have spent several hours trying to get it to connected to an older Vizio tv (E422VL model). We are unable to get to the digital set up screen after apparently getting the wireless controller to sync with the Xbox console.
Keep getting "Something went wrong" E102 error on the screen. When trying to go through the trouble shoot option on the screen, we can select all options except for the Ofline system update (USB option). After reading on the Microsoft website we decided to
download the factory reset option onto a formatted thumb drive and tried to see if Xbox would update that way. Still nothing but the continuous loop of "Something went wrong" and E102 error when Xbox finally starts up. My question is whether something is wrong
with our Xbox or is this possibly an issue with our older Vizio tv? Any help would be greatly appreciated since my 12 yr old saved for months to be able to purchase herself an Xbox one.

Xbox One X flickering and black screening in 4K after 11/17 system update

I can also say that both my X One S had issues and now my X One X blinks randomly as well. I’m using a 55’’ Visio E55-E1 and almost unplayable in 4K. 1080p is fine but I didn’t buy the One X for 1080P.

 

360 remote

I am having the same issue. It work with my new Xbox 360 S but not my older (white) Xbox 360. I unpluggest my 360 S and it is still not working with the white one.

Very sorry to hear about the issue. It's tough for us to determine if hooking your Xbox One S console into a different display caused this issue, however looking at the steps you've followed, we would recommend beginning the repair
process on our Online Service Center page.

We definitely understand a repair is far from ideal, but that's the best route to take next in this scenario.
