Xbox One S issue with 3D TV

    Hi All

With the last update, I noticed that the Xbox One S (2TB Launch Edition) has an issue properly talking with my LG 3D Smart TV (55UH8500). Before the update all was fine but since the xbox fails to properly tell the tv that a 3D movie is inserted. Usually
My TV will recognize a 3D disc and auto switch to 3D mode. As of now it doesn't but it does work properly with all other devices I have connected that can play a 3D video.

Also at the settings screen on the xbox where you setup 4k video and select HDR, 3D & so fourth, when selecting 3D it says that the tv is reporting it cant do 3D. If I switch the xbox resolution from 4k to 1080p or vice versa, it will sometimes work and
3D will be recognized by the TV but sometimes it doesn't.

All other devices connected work fine & the TV recognizes the 3D signal. I have run the xbox through my a/v receiver which is 4k, HDR & 3D capable and I have run the xbox direct to the tv and get the same results on both. Looking for a possible solution.

    TV- LG 55UH8500, A/V Receiver - Yamaha RX-V381

    Thank you

    :)

I need the standards supported by XBox One S for 3D Playback

The XBox One S absolutely IS 3D capable. I was able to get 3D working by downgrading my audio out. My issue is a device I'm using to split my HDMI outs to send 1 output to the TV, one output to the AVR I have. The TV side is working, I see great 3D, the
AVR side is not (only works with stereo out).

3D Blu-ray movies no longer play in 3D mode

    Hello,

I'm having 3D playback problems as well! I'm using an Xbox One S and 3D Blu-ray worked perfectly before the summer update! When I try to play 3D now its converted down to 2D, the play 3D check box in settings is now unchecked and when I try to switch it
back on the Xbox says the TV isn't 3D! To me, it looks like an HDMI handshaking issue which has been caused by the summer update. For information purposes I'm using an LG 4k 3D TV.

Xbox One S issue with 3D TV

Has anyone else had this problem, it seems that the xbox one s isnt able to downscale the resolution to 1080p for the 3d to take effect. I have submitted a trouble tick through the console as well.

Xbox One X Blu Ray Issues

    Hi,

This is still a problem for me, but...thx to another member on a different thread I've found a workaround. There's still an issue that exists on the Xbox One X that needs attention and resolution, but at least there is a workaround.

So to recap, playing 3D BluRay discs on the Xbox One X causes the TV to show a loss of signal, like the Xbox One X is no longer outputting an HDMI signal. Very occasionally if I hard reboot the console with the disc still inside and then immediately
play the disc on boot, it works, and the disc plays in 3D, but most of the time not. 3D BluRays plays on the same TV with my One S connected no problem for me, so the issue seems to be with the One X only.

Now for the workaround, which will hopefully lead to the engineers finding and resolving the root cause of the problem also. If I set my Xbox One X, in the Display settings, to 1080p output (I still have the "Allow 4K" and "Allow HDR" checkboxes checked) the
TV switches from 4K 2160p to 1080p display mode as expected. When the Xbox One X is set to 1080p resolution all 3D BluRay discs that I have tried play in 3D first time, without problem. Switching the Xbox One X back to 4K 2160p output, the TV switches back
to 2160p as expected. However now when I try to play 3D BluRay discs, the same issue is back, in that as soon as the Xbox One X tries to set the TV to 3D Move, I get a loss of HDMI signal?

I've no idea is this is an issue specific to the combination of the Xbox one X and LG 3D TV's (as others who are reporting the problem also seem to have LG 3D TV's). Maybe the LG 3D TV's don't like to be switch from 4K to 1080p 3D mode? Or is the
Xbox One X doing something silly, like trying to set 3D mode on the TV, when the display resolution is still 2160p? Which won't work as there's no such thing as 4K 3D.

I have a workaround now, but I'd rather this was investigated, and fixed.

Just to recap, I have an LG 55UH850V 4K HDR 3D LED TV, with the latest firmware from LG.

    Thx
