Xbox One S is trying to install and update a game at the same time.

Okay for those of you who are wondering why does it take 13-15 hours sometimes to install a game on the Xbox One

If its taking even hour to install one game from a Blu-ray disc - and assuming your not downloading an update at the same time - it won't be due to the complexity of the compression of the assets on the disc. Basically, anything more than hour
installing purely from a disc indicates a hardware failure.

Typically when you install an Xbox One game for the first time there will also be game update, these updates install at the same time as the disc install.

If for example your connection speed was slow at say 2 Mbit/s and the update was 10 GB, that means that your install time will be approximately 12 hours. It doesn't matter how big the game is on disc. It will take 12 hours to install purely down to the internet
connection speed.

Regardless of the disc, what type of game it is, a typical offline install of an Xbox One game should take no more than 20 minutes.

Since you have a disc drive, you have a One S.

If you look at it, is it downloading an update? Try installing and refusing the update. Install the update after the game has installed by starting the game.

Those are digital only consoles and disks installs require the bluesy or dvd to validate the install

At lot of times when you try to install a game from disc, especially older ones, it will start installing the game, but at the same time it will realize there are updates. And it will attempt to get these as well. Since the game is not fully installed
yet this can cause conflicts. So it never hurts to do a clean install offline and then go get the updates.

Then let the game install.

Then reconnect to the internet and let the updates happen.

It takes longer when it's trying to install the disc and the game at the same time.
