Xbox one S Internet speed/Blank squares/very sluggish

After talking to many support staff today can't remember the names of all but remember one (francis) was great and talked me through all the many steps clearly and talked with me for nearly 3 hours. After no fix i was asked to
post on the forum as according to them this problem isn't just me but few others aswell. Just thought i should mention the great work and effort was put in to help me. It's always nice Thank you Francis.

Sorry if this is a long post just wanted to get everything correct.

I got the new Xbox One S today and my first problem was choosing a colour, all choices were blank, all i could see were little grey rectangles when i moved over them. no colour
at all like they didnt load in. I picked a random one and it did change the theme to blue. After installation i got an error cant connect to store. Then when I'm on the home page the ad loads fine but to two
other boxes below my games and apps (i.e Fifa 17/save 60% just cause 3) where greyed out no picture loaded. So i thought that was strange then went onto community tab I get all th elatest things in my feed but they don't load the background to the achivements
or load the video just greyed out boxes. (15 G with a grey background) basicly all the boxes don't load in. One guide is the same story not a single picture loads in all grey boxes. The store tab however... The ad loads... (of course they do! lol ) nothing
on the top part of the store loads but when i scroll down browse game line all 5 game pictures load but none of the rest of the store page. If i press A on browse games for example most of the tiles load in at the top apart from 2 on the right then i scroll
down... Very slow loading but eventally 90% of the tiles load. If i go to one of the games it loads then if i back out its very slow to recover. Also loaded up an app 'Crunchyroll' none of the pictures for the videos loaded up just blank.

Noticed something strange aswell when i do a speed test these are my results

PC says 20mb/s

xbox one - 19mb/s

xbox one S - 10mb/s

Whats with that? Seems very strange.

I have done many hard resets/manual installations/router resets/reinstallations you name it I've done it today

My OS version is 10.0.14393.1058 (rs1_xbox_rel_1608.160909-1900) fre. The preview program build on BOTH consoles my original xbox one works perfectly fine yet my new out of the box Xbox one S is very slow and sluggish.

Sorry once again for long post. I was told to post as there are others with same problem on the system. sorry if it doesnt make much sence my brain is abit fried after many hours of trying to find a soloution. Thank you

Please Update Xbox Live Internet Speeds

When I download a game it get speeds of 60Mb/s up to 120Mb/s

My Internet speed is 500Mb/s, Soon they will finish Fiber and I will be at Gigabit speeds

With the Xbox One X coming you would think Microsoft/Xbox would up there speeds to Gigabit

As with all the Digital games and Streaming Xbox Live needs more Speed

hi is there anyone who can help me to get a good internet speed on my Xbox one s. my Xbox one s internet speed wont go above 3 Mbps but on my PC it works wonderful(40Mbps) i have tried every single option out there to boost up the internet strength but seems
disappointing

Blank squares from what I've seen is a problem with the OS. This could be the cause of your network speeds as well. but it's hard to say. Have you done a factory reset yet? If you've not done one you can try that by following
this link. However, if it's a brand new Xbox One S, and you're already having some odd issues like that, I personally would be exchanging it at the retailer where it was purchased for a new one.

 

Yes i have tried everything.. I'm starting to think its a hardware problem as the xbox is very sluggish and speeds are half of what my other xbox one gets with exact same setup and OS.

If a factory reset didn't fix, and it's a new console like I said I would honestly recommend trying to exchange it for another one at the retailer you purchased it from. That said, if you want to try some more troubleshooting I'd do the following.
First try plugging it in where another one of your consoles are to see if you get the same issues, or if the speeds improve. Also if you're using wireless trying using a wired connection if at all possible. Also, go to Settings, All Settings, Network, and
run a test on the Multiplayer Connection. Make sure that everything tests ok and ensure you have an Open NAT.

Like i said in OP i have them both set up same area with same cable and both differ in speeds old xbox one 20 mb/s new xbox one S 10mb/s. they both have the same OS. everything is the same yet i still have problems.

Contacted GAME retailer and they suggest waiting to see if an update comes.

 

That's unfortunate that the retailer is giving you a hard time. I'd definitely check their return policy online if they have it available. What did your NAT say? Is it the same as your other Xbox, and is it open? If it's not Open then let us know, and we
can try to get your NAT open.

 

Both are moderate.

Yeah i called my local shop and its due to tha fact they are really low on stock he suggested it. But i will go in tomorrow and get them to check it. Just to remove any kind of doubt on that front.
