    Xbox One S 'instant-on' not working


    The 'instant-on' functionality is not working on my Xbox One S.

    I cannot turn my console on using controller, I have to press the power button on the console each time. It also starts up like it shuts down fully each time I power it off.

    Can anyone help?

    Xbox instant on not working

    hi there... I'm having problems with instant on..

    I bought a new 1tb, one s about 2 weeks ago and have the power mode set to instant on. But when I power on the Xbox after being off for more than an hour it starts up as though it's in energy saving mode plus it will only turn on by the button on the Xbox....
    the controllers which I have both used playing games and are linked to my profile will not turn my Xbox on.... any help or support would be great thanks.... I have tried unplug and restart... don't be know what else to try...

    Hey there -

    So what happens if you set your Xbox One S console into Energy Saver mode vs Instant-On? Do you still experience the same issues? If so, you can try to

    factory reset     your console (start with the option that lets you keep your games and apps) and see if that helps.

    Having exact same issue however mine has coincided with purchasing a new 4K to and it's frustrating. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Mine has just started doing the same thing... Instant on appears to work for about an hour and then it shuts itself off.

    Xbox One S Wi-Fi connection Issues

    It seems there are some users that are having issues with the Xbox one S wireless connection related to the instant on function.

    Maybe one work around for now is that you turn off the instant on function and try using the power save turn on option. It will take longer to boot each time but your wifi hopefully should work each time.

    Hope this helps. Sorry it's only a temporary solution.

    Hi Tomek,

    Being in Instant-On mode does not harm the console. If the Xbox starts making loader fan noises or any other unusual or loud noises than switch it to energy saving mode. However, I think your console should be just fine in Instant-On mode. I would suggest
    to plug it directly into a wall outlet if it is not in one because the power supply in your console works best with it's own power source and not shared with others on a power strip or surge protector.
