Xbox One S, How did my power supply fail so soon?

I am a gamer. I have a PS4 that I have put
THOUSANDS of hours on.
THOUSANDS ! I bought my son an Xbox One S a short while ago... and support is telling me i need to send it it for repair. Power supply (internal) is shot. If course, the unit is out of warranty.

WHY? Why is my PS4 still chugging along after hours and hours a day of gameplay and eight years of use? Yet my son (Age 9) plays Minecraft once a week for 2 hours and this Xbox One S power supply is gone in less than 24 months? I don't get it.

I am not new to the gaming arena Microsoft. This is absolute bologna. I read somewhere that Microsoft made improvements on the "Xbox One
X" ventilation because of the numerous problems with the "XBox One
S" power supply. I keep the unit ina well ventilated BDI cabinet. I feel shortchanged.

As an MSFT stock owner and mega fan of Satya Nadella.... I have to say i am disappointed. This console should not have failed so soon.

If the product is under warranty you may want to exchange the unit either with the retailer or with Microsoft.

Tech can be a fickle thing. I've had a Switch console that didn't make it past the year mark before it went down a ps3 that barely hit 6 months and a ps3 that still works to date, I also have had an xbox one since release and have never had a slight issue
with it. It's impossible to tell with stuff like this.

As technical issues happen at random, to anyone, we cannot answer your question. I would strongly advise you to send your console in, so engineers can correct the fault. Nor can we answer questions about why your PS4 is still working, and your Xbox isn't.

Technology is very fickle, try rolling out the car showroom in a brand new car and it stopped dead with an ECU fault. I was gutted, is all I can say, yes warranty but I hadn't got out of the dealership. Unfortunately these things happen with all thinks
