    Xbox One S HDR issue

I called my TV company, Vizio, and told them I am having an issue with my HDR 10 feature on my TV.

After a while of watching apps like YouTube, Twitch, etc. The screen will go black, then static will appear on the screen. Silent static.

Vizio says that other Xbox One S owners have called about this, and that the owners have went onto this website to complain about it.

Is anyone having this issue like I am? I have HDR turned off on my TV until they fix this issue.

I have literally done every troubleshoot in the book to fix this.

    :)

A HDR game list for Xbox One S?

Xbox One S dose support HDR, but most HDR games do not support Xbox One S.

    Xbox One S HDR issue

    Hey Aiki Man!

Originally, specific Vizio 4K TV's only supported Dolby Vision and not HDR10. Just recently Vizio began rolling out firmware updates that includes HDR10 support for their 4K SmartCast M & P series TV's. For more information, please refer to

    Vizio's HDR10 Firmware Information
page. As noted on that page, this currently applies to M50-D1, M60-D1. P50-C1, P55-C1, P65-C1, and P75-C1. If you do not own one of those models, your TV may not support HDR10 quite yet and you may need to reach out to
Vizio support in regards to that.

Be sure to enable HDMI Color Subsampling on your TV if it is one of the model's mentioned above! Let us know how it goes!

  5. Same here, brand new M65-d0. With Xbox One S set to 4K display, with 4K and HDR enabled the screen with either go to 'silent static' or freeze image (while I can hear the game continue in background).

HDR is working, but it appears to cause the M65 to crash when in-game. I do not see this behavior in the Xbox dashboard nor game menus.

According to this post from Vizio CTO on AVSForums, it is known issue?

    Hi Irish Frisky

Try Mister Beer's suggestion above. As this thread is a bit old and your issue may be a bit different than the OP's question I'd suggest creating a new thead so the community can help with your exact issue.

  7. Sorry to say, Hydro, the issue is continuing. Starting new threads will not help track this, nor will it help people discuss the HDR issue with the Vizio sets. I'm having the issue as well on my M50-D1.

    So far:

Checked firmware to television is updated.

Checked that sampling was turned on for port 1.

    Turned ARC back on.

    Tried Microsoft and Vizio cables.

Tested 1080P through 30 minute sessions of Halo 5 and Forza Horizon 2 - no issues.

Tested same games at same time intervals - issues in Halo began almost immediately 4-5 min in, while Horizon 2 would take 10 min. Sometimes long black screen that went back to normal image, sometimes to static.

    Reset XBox.

    Wiped XBox.

Checked to make sure nothing was causing interference to cable.

More people are starting to have the issue - time to get cracking on this problem with the tv manufacturers.

  8. Xbox One S HDR issue

Hey, chihuahuacopter! What Hydro told that other user to do is so that we do not commandeer another person's thread. The original poster did not mention what model of Vizio they have, so your issue might be different than theirs. In order to best troubleshoot
your specific issue, you will want to post up a new thread so that the community can assist you further.

For more information on how we work on our forums, please check out the link in my signature.

    Thanks for understanding!

  9. Actually, he mentions the blackouts and the image static, so it's the same issue. It's not related to just one television. You guys need to organize the threads rather than have multiple threads. If you insist on multiple threads, then it would be best
for your forum staff to grab a list of HDR sets and create posts for people to include their issues based on whichever television they have.

I'm not being difficult, but he and many others are having the same issues as I am, but with the ridiculous amount of 4K threads out there, one has to do too many thread hops to get the information they need.

  10. I am having this problem with a Vizio M65-D0 on the HDMI 1 port which is the ARC port supporting 4K@60 with 4:4:4 on 8 bit. I have an xbox one s connected using the xbox one s supplied cable and have tried a different high speed HDMI cable supporting 4K@60,
etc. I have the xbox one s set to 4K HDR enabled and suppport 4K and the vizio tv has the port set to HDMI color subsampling (which is supposed to be for HDR). I get blanking out of the screen both for games and watching netflix. I also occasionally get the
static screen but not as common. I also seem to lose sound, so not getting the game sounds.

I have tried setting the xbox one s to 1080p but with 4k enabled and HDR enabled and still having this problem. I don;t recall having this problem with the xbox one (non s) on this TV but I didn't game as much on that console.

Hi All - I am having this same issue with my Vizio TV. I've spoken with them and they say the issue is on the Xbox side. Has anyone found out a fix for this?

  12. Aiki Man, did you ever get your issue resolved? I am having the exact same issue. I just bought a Vizio E55-E2. I had already taken the original one I purchased back to Best Buy and exchanged it for another.

So I am thinking it's either the XBOX, or Vizio firmware. I would like to know if anybody else who had this issue, is using a TV from another manufacturer.

    Xbox One S HDR issue

I too am having this issue. I have a brand new XBOX One S, and a brand new Vizio M-Series M65-D0. I went through tech support with Vizio and with MS who, no surprise here, blame each other. My M65 has a built in Chrome Cast (Google Cast) and when I watch
Netflix 4K on the "Cast" input all is well. When watching Netflix or playing games through Xbox with HDR, which I have plugged into HDMI-1 (with color subsampling enabled on HDMI-1) as this is the only port that supports HDR, the issue appears. I have tried
replacing the High Speed HDMI cable that came with the XBO-S as MS suggested, plugged the XBO-S straigh to the wall socket, as MS Suggested, and the issue still persists ONLY with the Xbox. Admittedly, I have not tried another 4k/UHD/HDR source (ie: UHD Blue
Ray player) to see if this issue appears with same.
