Xbox One S HDR issue

I’ve just acquired an Xbox One S and I’m experiencing a weird HDR issue that I can’t seem to find any discussion of anywhere else. The Xbox is connected to a Sony receiver that supports HDMI/HDR pass through as I also have a PS5 and an Apple TV 4K connected, both of these display 4K HDR and/or Dolby Vision with no difficulty. TV is a TCL 65R615, also 4K and DV compatible.

The issue, which again solely exists with the Xbox, is that whenever I load an HDR game, the console will not revert to SDR upon leaving the game, making the system menus and any other non-HDR sources look over saturated and really awful. A console reboot usually solves it, but not always, some times I have had to turn off HDR before rebooting and then re-enabling after the reboot. Also, it doesn’t seem to do this with HDR video sources such as Netflix, just games.

The settings on the receiver input are identical to those which are used by the other devices, I’ve tried multiple HDMI cables, it’s a very odd problem and I’m wondering if there’s a setting I could’ve missed somewhere. I just set up the console last night and all of the TV settings found within the console are set to their defaults, nothing I’ve found seems to solve the issue.
