Xbox One S HDR Issue(Games and Netflix)

I have recently gotten a new LG OLED65B7P and connected it to my Gears of War 4 edition Xbox One S. In the xbox home screen and menus my picture is fine. When I try to open netflix on my xbox my screen goes black and goes to the no connected device screen
saver. The same happens when I try to play Gears of War 4 in HDR, everything is going fine while in the xbox menus then when the game starts the screen goes black and you can just hear the game music playing.

When I play a 4k HDR DVD in the Xbox Blu Ray app the TV kicks over to HDR and the content plays flawlessly. I'm not sure why this issue occurs with netflix and gears of war 4 but not with the blu ray app.

My Onyko TX-NR676/Xbox OneS/LG B7P are all up to date with the most recent firmware and software. Any further info or fix would be appreciated.

    :)

Having the same issue, Epson 5040ub w/ Xbox One S, HDR isn't working on anything (UHD, Netflix, games) despite receiver and all cables being HDMI 2.0a / 4K HDR supported spec.

Netflix: No UHD on XBOX One S

I can verify this issue...Netflix UHD does not work on Xbox One S. I have a Vizio M55-D0 with the latest firmware enabling HD10 support. My TV is now recognized by the One S video settings as 4K HDR capable. I am able to enable HDR support and it works beautifully
with the Blu-Ray app (Mad Max 4K Blu Ray playing 4K, 24fps, HDR as verified by the Vizio settings app). However when I start Netflix, the screen flashes, colors mute, and video fails to switch to HDR or 24fps. Netflix app is clearly broken right now for HDR.
If I switch HDR off on the One S, Netflix app is fine, plays 4K correctly, colors are fine obviously no HDR.

Xbox One S HDR Issue(Games and Netflix)

    Hey there,

Sorry to hear about the display issue. Does this black screen stay persistent, or does it flicker off and on? To start out, let's try to bypass your Onkyo receiver and plug your Xbox One S console directly into the TV with the supplied HDMI cable to see
if these issues continue to occur. In addition, try an alternate HDMI port on your TV that has the appropriate HDR settings enabled to see if that helps (I believe LGs HDR settings are labeled 'HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color').

Keep us posted if bypassing the receiver helps so we know where to dig in first!

    Hi Mister Beep-

So through my experiments started by your idea, i realized that my HDMI cable running from my Onyko receiver to my TV was a old HDMI cable that did not have hdmi 2.0 capabilities. After i replaced that cable now all is well in the world and things are running
    great.

    Thanks for the response!

Xbox one S, Netflix dims screen when HDR is enabled

When I finally reached someone at Netflix support who had heard of HDR, I was told (after a lengthy hold) that HDR-always-on is the way the app is supposed to behave. What a joke. Please sign this Change.org petition:

This is concerning because I find my Xbox One S to be a better option than my PlayStation 4 or Smart TV. I do not like how the image looks with HDR enabled on non-HDR content as it's washed out and blurry. As it stands, I have to use my PS4 Pro for Netflix
and Xbox One S for Amazon Video and Hulu. This is in no way an intended feature because if it was it would happen on every device. A company as big as Netflix has to be aware that HDR on standard content will have a negative effect and for this issue to go
on for so long is unacceptable.

Xbox one S, Netflix dims screen when HDR is enabled

I've had the same issue since the one S came out. The only way to stop the dimming effect is to shut off HDR in the Xbox settings. Not sure if this is an MS issue or a Netflix issue. But seeing as I can cast 4k hdr Netflix from my phone directly to the tv
with no dimming, my money's on MS issue

Why is this issue being ignored? I should not have to disable HDR every time I wish to use Netflix. I’m about to downgrade my Netflix plan to not include UltraHD and see if that stops it from triggering HDR but I am not sure if that will be successful. The
loss of color and blurring is unacceptable and the silence both Microsoft and Netflix show towards this is concerning. I don’t want to buy a Roku player or a PS4 media remote so canceling Netflix may be my only option if a fix isn’t implemented within the
    next month or two.
