Xbox One S - HDR Display Issues Green Dots lines

    Hi,

I have Display issues with my XBOX ONE S when trying to play BF1 in HDR I'm getting Green Dots I can see the image behind the Dots. I am using a correct HDMI which supports HDR and I've tried 2 of these one gives white Dots the other Green Dots.

I'm using a LG 65UH950V Television which to my understanding should accept this signal I have HD Ultra Deep Colour with HDR Super Dolby with no issue and at nearly 3 grand I should hope it doesn't have issues displaying anything the Xbox can throw at it
infact I should have redundancies spec wise.

*BF1 has just had a HDR update (November 2017) so I'm wondering if this is a EA Games issue with that update or if I've got a fault with either the TV or Console. This is the first time I've tried HDR normally I play the xBox with no issue with HDR turned
off its just worrying me why this function has issues hopefully its the console and not the TV.

Any help or similar issues would be very welcomed thank you

    Craig

    :)

    Green Dots/Lines

    Hi Support,

I am getting green dots patterned in lines down my screen. This happens in the home menu, around some confirmation dialogue boxes and for Forza5 it happens in the cinematic portions (before/after a race, choosing a car - actual race game play no problems
except sunlight rendering a bit blocky). I have tried both 720p and 1080p settings on the xbox one and also different tvs (plus a projector), and the issue persists.

    Please advise.

    Cheers!

Displaying Netflix in 24hz on XBOX ONE S

    Hi,

I would like to ask if anyone was successfully able to display Netflix on an XBOX ONE S in 24hz.

My XBOX ONE S converts 24hz to 60hz when watching netflix.

Playing UHD disks works fine and they display in 4K, HDR and in 24hz.

Also standard Full HD blurays display in 24hz.

Only Netflix displays in 4K, HDR but converted to 60hz.

Your help or advice is much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Martin

Xbox One X Youtube 4k problem - Green & Grey Screen with Lines

Hey there, have you set your Xbox Display output to 4k? I had this issue on some games using my Xbox One S, I went into display settings and ensured I had all the correct display settings and then the green lines just disappeared.

Green lines and dots one Xbox One S

Artifacts on the screen like that generally indicate that there's a GPU defect in the Xbox.

But first, let's see if this is a display/cable issue. Try the below (all while you're in normal 1080p mode):

    • Try a different HDMI input on your TV, if available.
    • Try a different HDMI cable.
    • Try a different TV set or monitor.

If you still see artifacts on the screen with all steps, then you'll indeed have to send your console in for repair.

Consoles carry a one year warranty from purchase date. Go ahead and start the repair process here:

Did you try different cables? If the issue persists on multiple TVs with Multiple cables it sounds like the console. May need to be serviced. Are they always there? If so then perhaps GPU issue. https://myservice.xbox.com

    Xbox One S and HDR

Ummm cause only 4k tvs support hdr

    Even on a ps4 pro

Hate to burst your bubble but hdr is only meant for 4k tv

Hdr sets res at 1440p or.higher and allows.for advance color control.only available on 4k res

The only things that play in hdr on xbox one s is 4k bluray and 4k streaming

If you tried this on a 1080p tv you will have blurry lines instead of a good picture

Because you are trying to squeeze too much res into a 1080p

Hdr onlybworks when the tv and player support HDR and 1080p tvs dont

Neither dods a ps4 slim or originsl

Only pro units do and xbox ome s and .x
That's not strictly true. There are some 1080P TV's that support HDR, but not many of them. HDR is for colour output, it has nothing to do with the picture resolution of the content. Not sue why you think it would have 'blurry lines'?

Also need to correct you on few more things here:

HDR for the Xbox One S - if you're using a 4K display - is not limited to UHD Blu-ray or Streaming services, it can also be used in Xbox One games that have HDR support.

All PS4 consoles support HDR, it's not locked behind the Pro console. They will also do HDR at 1080P.

    But to the original poster:

There isn't just one type of HDR

Likely the true reason for HDR not being supported for the Xbox One S and 1080P is one of technology. There isn't just one type of HDR, there are several, HDR8, HDR10 and Dolby Vision to name a few. Those few 1080P displays with HDR, likely only support
the early HDR standards. Sure, it's HDR, but good HDR?

xbox one s can't support FHD / QHD HDR

Xbox one s only supports HDR game in UHD 4K2K 60Hz Timing.

As a result, there is a number of of FHD / QHD displays that suppot HDR can't turn on HDR in Xbox one s.

It should also support FUD / QHD HDR for better compatibility.

Suggest xbox developer to consider to support gaming HDR with 1080p @50/60 hz and 1440p @50/50 hz timings.
Additionally, lots of VESA DPM DisplayHDR Displays are 1080P.
