    1. I recently installed Halo 3 on my xbox one s

    2. I then decided to try x box live, cause it seemed fun to go old school with Halo 3 after seeing its backward capability

    3. it initially didn't work until I learned to download my profile from xbox one to the x box 360 interface

    4. then xbox live worked in matchmaking for a few weeks

    now, each time I login it says, 'Information could not be retrieved from xbox live.' I googled, of course, and saw this issue numerous times but not particularly recently, so I figured I'd come here to best explain my specific situation.

    I thought maybe the servers were down, but everywhere it's posted that this will happen in December, which leads me to believe something else is going on.

    Oh okay, so the server is just flimsy at times? As in, at some point it'll likely work again without any intervention but there's no way to know when or why? (Just to make sure I understand :) )

    Clean your console's MAC and restart your internet devices.

    Network Settings> Advanced Settings> MAC Address and Clear.

    If the issue persists, try redownloading your Xbox 360 profile.

    Thanks so much for helping! I tried the steps and unfortunately they did not work.

    I both cleared MAC, restarted router, and then downloaded the profile. So far, it's resulted in the same issue, although I was certainly hopeful it'd give me a fresh start and work like it did a few weeks ago.

    Got it. I was looking into the problem and the problem is server related, it happens with the other versions of the game as well and it seems to work again out of nowhere.

    From the reports I've seen, the server returned to working normally and sometimes shows this behavior. I didn't see any other troubleshooting that we could try
