If you send a console in for repairs it is returned with a 90 day warranty.

The manufacturer's warranty won't be affected by it. I do suggest from now on however, when you purchase a console, to also get Microsoft Complete for Xbox... its only $50 extra, but it is a 3 year warranty that covers repairs and accidental damage.

As onyx stated the repair warranty is usually a temporary warranty when the console is returned in case something happens where you need to send the console back. It should not replace your 1 year manufacturer warranty as they are essentially separate. You
are entitled to having a full year of warranty from the day you purchase your console and that shouldn't change.
