Xbox One S grinding sound(possibly hard drive)

When turned on, my Xbox makes a grinding/clicking/rough squeaking sound after a few seconds and doesn't stop. it won't respond to being turned off using the Xbox button, so the only thing you can do is unplug the power. It won't accept input, and any monitors connected to it will display No Signal. The sound seems to be coming from the hard drive(?), or another rotating mechanical component. the sound happens whether or not there is a disc in the drive, so I don't think that's the issue. Another problem is that my controller's sync button doesn't work (the button is off-centre and doesn't click)

Oh weird, you're right. The video audio is quiet, sorry about that. It sounded clear on my phone last night. It's extremely loud and grinding. Not clicking, just grinding.

It's not the main top fan, it's fine. It could be the CPU fan. It would make sense if it's the hard drive.

I'm starting to think I should just get the Xbox One S... this one is about 7 years old (day one) and has been used almost every day since I got it. But if I could repair this on my own it would be much cheaper.

The size of the hard drive on the Xbox One X sounds so small I can't imagine it not supporting external drives. If it installs 4k games on the hard drive, I would think it would eat up space fast. (If that makes sense to anyone besides me. lol)

I might be wrong. I am about once a year so it's possible I guess.

Im assuming you had microphone near console when recording which is why it sounds loud in that video.

Sounds normal to me and some of that noise will be the hard drive which makes clicky grinding type noises.
