xbox one s gets hot and shuts itself off when i play games. only does this on games nothing ...

I have been trying to fix this issue for weeks, I find that it only shuts off while playing video games, Like R6. When it shuts off the screen does a weird zap image and the cords, Xbox one and power brick are HOT. I don't have the money for a new Xbox,
I also don't want to erase my data soooo

Do not use the cooler the slim does not need it ! and that is proven and even if the Slim was to get to hot it shuts itself off automatically the piece of junk will wreck your slim.

If a console becomes too hot it may shut itself down to protect itself. Make sure they xbox is getting enough air and the fans are away from objects blowing the hot air away. Remove all cables and leave it in a well ventilated area. Plug back in after about
20 mins and leave it on the dashboard, just staying there not playing any games.

Turn off, leave for 20 mins. When you next turn it on you may try play games again. Please let me know if this works for you.

Thanks for coming to the forums. Is this the only game the console shuts off on? If so we recommend try uninstalling and reinstalling the game. This may clear up any issues within the game. Also when it shuts down, is the console hot? It could be overheating.
Make sure your console is sitting in a well ventilated area. For a trial, when you play again have fan blowing on the console to see if it shuts down then. If it doesn't then something is getting to hot.

The game is Path of Exile. There are others who I chat with in game saying they have the series X as well and no issues. The app is netflix, I can watch shows all day and night, but the game will cause xbox to get hotter and hotter until frame rate drops to almost nothing, kicks to home screen, and xbox shuts itself off. I've tried everything mentioned in FAQ , I even reduced my 4k to standard settings, it's a heat issue even if I'm not getting an error for it. Others with same system play it with no problems or shutdowns. When it does shut down I can place my hand over the top and it's extremely hot, if I watch a show for 2 hours I put my hand over and it's barely warm. Like I said, 200mb internet, direct line, power to outlet direct, xbox in vertical position on top of stand by itself well ventilated.
